1. Filemaker Front Desk Data Tool for Staff
Purpose
The purpose of this database is to create a helpful tool for the Front Desk (Window R) of the Registrar’s office. This
database is for internal use only. The database offers information for questions that come up at the front counter
from students and staff members from other departments. It is a tool that can easily be searched by topic. It
includes a “Current” box selection in case there is a record from a previous term on the same subject. The “Current”
option provides the viewer the latest record on a search. This tool also offers recommendations on instructions to
students so that consistency is ensured on information given to students from various staff members rotating
coverage at the front counter. This tool can also be used for those staff members covering the phone or ACD line and
adds to the consistency with information given at the front counter and over the phones from all staff members.
Input from all team members including SIS, Records, Transcripts, residency, and Undergraduate teams are included in
the database. Security features are included in the database giving access to change content to approved staff
members only.
