Accomplishments
Analysis and programming
Analyze, develop and maintain large scale, complex integrations
between a Cloud based HCM/Payroll system and current financial, HR
and payroll systems. Integrated systems across multiple University
divisions (e.g., Humanities, Social Sciences, Biological Sciences
[including Medical Center], etc.)
2. Coordinated, for several years, the annual fiscal year-end close for a
major university’s accounting system of record. This role involved
coordinating with numerous financial services staff across the
university, and keeping several complex systems (debit and capital
asset management, accounts payable, payroll, budget, etc.) in sync and
reconciled throughout the close. The results pass annual internal and
external audits, and become the basis of the university’s annual
financial statement.
Rewrote the integration and coordinated the testing between the
university’s alumni development (gift receiving) system and the
accounting system of record.
Analyzed and resolved complex problems in capital assets depreciation
calculations for a major research university. The results pass annual
external audits.
Lead the redesign and deployment of a capital assets management
system’s fiscal year-end processing into a production environment at a
major research university.
Lead the development of a software system that allows users to submit
batches of accounting transactions via Excel spreadsheets to be
automatically loaded into an enterprise level accounting system of
record. This system has been running continuously in a major research
university for the past 14 years.
Worked with business clients to determine the requirements, then
analyzed and coded a process to automatically reverse suspense
account transactions from the hospital feeds to the university’s
accounting system.
Automated complex error checking in tuition payment transactions
generated from web receipts.
Mentored other programmers/analysts in IT support for an enterprise
level financial accounting system, and for other application software
support.
