According to a May 2015 survey by YouGov, more than half of US smartphone owners have used a mobile payment service. PayPal is the most well known as well as the most widely used payment service ahead of Google Wallet, Apple Pay and other mobile payment services provided by banks and independent developers. US consumers mostly use mobile payment services to pay for products and services they purchase online. They also use the service for small personal transfers between friends and family. Among consumers who are yet to use a mobile payment service, the top reason keeping them from adopting it is a lack of benefit over cash and card.
