  57. 60. What are some do's and don'ts when using social media
  58. 61. DO Jump in and start using these products. The best way to find out which ones work best for you is to try them out.
  59. 62. DON'T Think of social media as a private conversation. The public can see everything you post. Don't post anything that you wouldn't want to say to someone in person.
  60. 63. DO Respond to people who post things regarding your business.
  61. 64. DON'T Respond in a way that offends that person or makes them angry. Getting defensive or angry doesn't fix any anything and will only make the problem worse.
  62. 65. DO Post about your company, product, or service when its warranted. Social media is a perfect venue to toot your own horn.
  63. 66. DON'T Post things about your business, product, or service that's false, or isn't meant to be in the public arena.
  64. 67. DO Post deals or specials that might give new customers incentives to try out your business.
  65. 68. DON'T Post spam. I hate spam. You hate spam. We all hate spam. Don't be that person.
  66. 69. DO Post about employees or coworkers if they do something great for your company or for the community. Employees who are good citizens says a lot about a company. Make sure you let them know ahead of time.
  67. 70. DON'T Talk about internal issues or conflicts within your business. Airing dirty laundry in public isn't pretty for anyone. Keep your private issues private.
  68. 71. DO Talk about successes that your company has. Good news helps everyone. Take advantage of it.
  69. 72. DON'T Talk about your financial situation. Ever. The Securities and Exchange Commission frowns on that kind of stuff.
  70. 73. DO Have fun using social media. Being creative not only helps your business, but can be very energizing to a business.
  71. 74. DON'T Let social media take over your life. Social media tools are updated constantly, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You're not. Make a schedule to check your social media at certain times during the day and stick to it. There is no need to check Twitter at 3:00 am. It will be there in the morning.
