SYLVANVALE DISABILITY SERVICES (nee Foundation)
The Brief
Sylvanvale is a disability service provider which
enables people with an intellectual disability to
achieve their full potential. People are their focus.
As part of a broader strategic review, Sylvanvale
wanted to undertake a complete re-design of their
logo and their visual communications to better
present themselves as leaders in their field.
It was important, however, to ensure that they
acknowledged their past, while embracing their
future direction.
The Brand In Glove Response
> Maintained ‘community’ graphic with core
brand colour - blue - representing the past.
> New, secondary colour - orange - was
introduced to signify the future of the brand.
> Increased prominence of ‘Sylvanvale’ name and
contemporised typeface.
> Introduced a signature shape with colour
gradient applied to represent the opportunities
for advancement they provide to their disabled
clients, but also aligning their staff to the
aspirations for the brand.
Brand In Glove was engaged to present the new
style to all Head Office staff, engaging them on the
journey. We have since been working to execute the
style across new comms elements; see next page.
Brand guidelines are currently being developed.

The Brief
Develop a consistent visual style, maintaining
their existing logo, that can be adopted across all
internally produced elements.
The Brand In Glove Response
A visually powerful masthead, with bold use of
typeface and brand colours, was developed to give
the EUAA clear ownership of each piece.
The masthead was also designed to complement the
‘flame’ graphic in their logo.

LOGO DESIGN & BRAND IDENTITY |
LITTLE CRATE
The Brief
Little Crate is an online monthly subscription
service where parents can receive a monthly ‘crate’
containing craft and educational activities for their
3-7 year old children.
A logo was required which reinforced the tagline
‘Bright Ideas for Little Kids’ and the Client was
particularly attached to the idea of a light bulb as
part of the design. The visual style should be bright
and engaging.
The Response
A gender-neutral colour palette was developed
for the logo and the visual style. The fonts were
selected for their sense of fun, yet functionality. The
tagline is brought to life in the logo in the way of a
thought bubble, attached to the brand name.

The Brief
Refresh and update existing Word & Powerpoint
template designs in a visual style that could be
rolled out globally.
The Response
A professional, corporate approach was adopted,
using the most recent Westfield colour palette,
with a range of colour options created to provide
some differentiation between the programs, while
ensuring they visually belong to the one family of
communications.

welcome new Westfield employees to the business,
providing a clear overview of the company, its

A heavily image-driven approach was adopted to

POSTER DESIGN |
WESTFIELD FOUNDATIONAL LEADERSHIP
PROGRAM
The Brief
There wasn’t one!
When I was a Westfield employee, I was able
to attend the 2½ day Westfield Foundational
Leadership Program. The program was designed
to enhance the leadership skills and emotional
intelligence of management staff across Australia.
The program had a profound effect on me and
was one of the catalysts for me in creating Brand In
Glove.
As there was a plethora of information covered
during the 2½ days, I wanted to ensure that the key
concepts and tools we’d learned were consolidated
into an A3 poster which could be hung up and
easily referred to during the normal day-to-day.
The organisers of the program were so impressed
with the poster that they now distribute this to the
attendees at the end of each course.

WESTFIELD NATIONAL MARKETING
The Brief
As part of the Westfield Marketing University, the
General Manager Marketing wanted to create a
handout designed to inspire the 100+ attendees of
the conference.
The Response
All delegates were contacted to provide a brief
quote or statement about the person or thing that
inspires them the most in life.
A 32pp A5 landscape brochure was created in
which an image of each person/thing was sourced
and included with the quote or statement provided
by the delegate.
The General Manager Marketing was so impressed
with the result that he cheerfully quipped that we
both had a career ahead of us at Hallmark.
