I am diligent dependable HSE professional with more than 10 years’ experience coordinating and implementing
HSE compliance requirements on onshore and offshore projects in the oil and gas industry. I possess strong
knowledge of most South African refineries as well as West African and Angolan Oil Companies. My 5 years’
offshore experience includes Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Angola, Italy and Spain and, 6
months on Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Vessels. I am attentive to detail and able to
handle the pressures of managing concurrent duties in deadline driven environments. I consistently promote a
safety culture by leading by example. I am experienced in working in H2S environments, Simops, working with
and inspecting of Firefighting and emergency equipment. My certifications include BOSIET, Offshore Medical,
NEBOSH (IGC 1, 2 & 3) and SAMTRAC as well as Authorized Gas Tester. I work equally well independently or
as part of a team adopting an analytical and systematic approach to solving complex problems. This includes
accident and incident investigations to determine the route cause. I combine strong interpersonal skills and
effective communication and thrive in challenging environments. During my previous employment I held the
position of HSE Officer at The Sea Trucks Group offshore Nigeria. Prior to this I was HSE Supervisor on a JUB
(Jack Up Barge), on a drilling project off the Chilean coast. Responsibilities have encompassed diverse aspects
of management, including the organization of major projects and customer liaison etc. Generation of new
strategies and maintenance of existing accounts; (motivation, training, implementation, development &
continuous monitoring) setting and achieving targets; liaison at all levels from Top Client delegates to lower
management. My accomplishments have predominately been related to the planning and implementation of
strategies which have maximized company services, exploited existing HSE areas while systematically
developing the new along with the willingness to give full commitment to my employer. I am widely travelled and
adaptable to any culture or environment.

 Oversees preventative and remedial maintenance of all LSA and FFA equipment and systems.
 Oversees and monitors the effectiveness of on-board reporting of incidents, accident, near misses and non-
conformances.

 Carries out frequent checks of emergency communication equipment and maintains records of these tests.
 Ensures that the bridging document is reviewed for all safety, pollution and emergency response issues.
 Monitors the inventory of all FFA, LSA and oil spill response consumables.
 Keeps register of all hazardous materials and up to date MSDS and ensures that they are assessed and
control measures are in place for the safe use of them.
 Ensures all safety videos on-board are routinely shown.
 Acts as member of emergency team as dictated by Muster List.
 Reinforce and strengthen the HSE culture at every opportunity in operations and projects.
 Promote correct HSE behaviors through personal example. Take action upon any health, safety and
environmental matter brought to their notice, and report to my Manager on any matter which I might not be
able to rectify.
 Ensure that the workforce under my control are adequately trained, competent and authorized for the
operations which they are required to perform, and kept informed of all relevant information to ensure their
health and safety. Carry out appropriate induction training.
 Maintain awareness Sub-Contractor activities, interfaces and the associated risks.
 Ensure a safe working environment for employees under my control. Assist in all safety inspections to ensure
that the workplace is maintained in a safe and tidy condition. Ensure as far as is reasonably practicable that
the work place is kept free of potential hazards.
 Ensure that risk assessments are carried out. Evaluate processes and activities for the presence of hazards.
Assess record and control the subsequent risk to a tolerable level.
 Conform to the emergency procedures applicable. Ensure that the workforce is aware of, and understands,
the emergency procedures.
 Facilitate effective two-way communication with the workforce on HSE issues. Conduct Toolbox Talks and
Pre Job Safety Meetings. Attend HSE Meetings and ensure workforce participation.

 Ensure all safety devices provided are utilized and maintained, protective equipment is worn, safety rules are
observed, and safe working practices applied. Ensure correct equipment usage, inspection and effective
maintenance.
