To make a comparative with a 1 syllable adjective, we need to
add –er
Tall --- Taller
5. with only 1 syllable adjective, with one vowel and one
consonant at the end. We…
Double the consonant, and add –er

(To compare these 2 gorillas, we say…)

6. with 2 syllables adjectives, ending in Y.

Change y to i, then add –er
HAPPY – HAPPYER

7. Two syllables or more, not ending in Y.
We Use “more” before the adjective
Ex. famous
Famous --- Famouser
Famous--- More famous
