choice of apps is
great but can mean:
continuous learning
curves
uncertain free
access (eg Padlet,
Storify)

4. • PowerPoint is much aligned within the media, the classroom, conference halls and
meeting rooms.
• Slide after slide of small font size textual content, listed in bullet points which the
presenter reads off the screen – word for word.
• Data charts that are literally impossible to read in a. the time frame or from the tiny
size of the content.
• Animations are limited to bullet points whizzing onto the screen, line by line.
• Images are poor quality, not very likely to be copyright cleared and mixed types such
as photos and clipart jar with regards to quality and colours, providing inconsistency.
• Despite the lofty aims of the original software developers PowerPoint has earned the
tagline of “Death by PowerPoint”
• Yet it is one of the most ubiquitous software packages around with many universities
providing for both staff and students.
