18. About GTECH
GTECH invests in the potential of community by:
● Building capacity through education,
resources, and partnership.
● Transforming land use liabilities into
community assets.
● Addressing gaps in systems and policies to
increase access.
19. 45,000+Vacant lots exist in Allegheny County. Each one affects
community differently, but all are tied to health, wellbeing,
crime, education, and environmental outcomes of place.
20. GTECH works with residents to collect and analyze data, so we can fully
understand the challenges being faced and what resources are already
present within the community that can help resolve them.
What we learn from data gathered informs not only the solution, but also the
process we take and decisions we make to put that solution in place.
22. Data is Important Because it-
Helps tell the story
Shows us the current situation
Helps make patterns evident
Highlights the commonalities in other work
Demonstrates impact and shows how we
can improve
Visualizes complex trends to residents and
communities
23. Tech Tools Help Us To-
Collect data more efficiently - with
fewer people, in less time, with
fewer errors
Collect data more frequently
Democratize the collection process,
participation in the collection
leads to participation in the
planning
Share information more broadly
24. Tech Tools Help Us To-

26. Include Residents Because They-
Are interested, and implementation isn’t the
only way to get involved
Can introduce you to the community
Provide a level of historical detail we don’t
have
Will get a better understanding about why
things happen - before they do
Will want to support your project in the long-
term
