3. BACKGROUND
THEY WERE SLAVES
This was a hard time for
African – American slaves

4. MAJOR CHARACTERS
Corey - He is 8 years old and a slave. He lives with
his mother and father and other relatives. He was
not scared when he was alone in the woods.
Daddy – He is a run away slave trying to get north
where there is freedom.

5. MAJOR EVENT
Corey was treated badly by the slave
owners

6. THE MAIN PROBLEM FOR THE
CHARACTER
Corey was trying to run away from slavery.

7. MAJOR EVENT
Corey was not a slave anymore because he
ran away.

8. MAJOR EVENT
Corey left the south and ran away to the
north to be free.

9. SOLUTION
Dad and Corey went to the north then they
got away from the slave catchers.

10. INTERESTING PERSON
Corey was interesting to me
because he ran to the north
because he wanting to be free. I
would not want to be a slave either.
