  19. 19. Skills to improve METACOGNITIVE Skills 1. Know your limits – evaluate what you know and what you don’t know. 2. Modify your approach – recognize what strategies is inappropriate with the task, modify or change it. 4. Rehearsing – repeatedly doing what you have learned and making interpretations or summary of the learning experience. 3. Skimming – browse over the material and keep an eye with the keywords, phrases and sentences. 5. Self –Test – focus not only of what you have learned but also on how you learned it.   20. 20. Four Types of METACOGNITIVE Learners 1. Tacit– unaware of their metacognitive processes although they know the extent of their knowledge. 2. Aware – know some of their metacognitive strategies but do not plan to use these techniques. 4. Reflective – reflect on their thinking while using the strategies and adapt metacognitive skills depending on their situation. 3.   21. 21. The Four MACRO SKILLS 1. Listening The process of using the sense of hearing, in order for the person to know what is happening around him. Competitive – listens and gives an opinion to the newly acquired information .

Example: you want to write eligibly in your notebook because your instructor gives merit to clean notes.
