- To find award winning eLearning examples, I went to the Brandon Hall Awards page, then searched award winners’ Web sites. This is one of the samples that I found and would like to use it as a reference example as we talk about skill sets today. http://demos.enspire.com/demo/AACN-Palliative/movie.html?one=1281447155834 View page 5, skim through to page 15 Caveat: I was not involved in the development of this course, but I can tell the types of skills they had on their team from the resulting product.
- People come into this field from many different backgrounds and professions.
- Here’s the deal… I researched the skills and education required to be in each one of these professions. The job responsibilities and skill requirements would take multiple slides and put you to sleep by the time I’m done. So, I’d rather have people in this room explain their primary skill and how they got into this profession.
- In the mid-90s, when the Internet was just starting to heat up, I wanted to learn HTML. I put it on my professional development plan and my manager objected. He said that I was a brilliant Instructional Designer and it was a waste to have me coding HTML. Not that coding HTML is a lesser job, it’s just that there were other technical people on our team who had that skill and should grow it. I needed to grow in a different direction and work with our technical folks to improve our product.
