The fashion fabric of the floral gown is
made of satin. The gown is fully lined with A
polyester fabric that has been woven into a
duchesse satin finish. There is no visible top
stitching on the fashion fabric due to the single
thread blind stich used to close the hems of the
gown. This also gives the gown a more expensive
appearance, allowing a higher price point to be
achieved. In Creating the fashion sketch digitally
I used adobe Illustrator to draw the croquis
pose and implement the bones of the design. I
then inserted my eyes, nose, and mouth which had
been previously created in illustrator and saved
as symbols. After transferring the document
into Adobe photoshop I was able to render the
patterns and texture of the gown while also
adding realistic touches to the fashion figure;
to do so I used the burn tool, the dodge tool,
while also using various paint brushes with
different opacities to create a realistic
illustration and design. The completed
illustration has an artistic filter over it that
gives it the appearance of watercolor.
