o Towers A-F constructed using MIVAN formwork
o Tower G constructed fully using conventional formwork
•Central parcel: 2B+G+14 - 7 towers (H-N)
oConventional formwork is used in all towers up to Ground floor
oS- formwork is used in floors from 1-14.

• The concreting process with the help of tower crane was also observed in detail.
• The activity with highest Coefficient of Variation should be taken care to
reduce
the delay in concreting process.

• There were 4 pumps available on site for placement of concrete.
• The cost per cubic meter of each pump was calculated separately.
• The pump with more cost per cum was removed from site as it was nearing its
salvage value.

Stores & Purchase Department
 Material Purchase Methodology
– Purchase Indent received from site – to be approved by Project-in-charge
– Checking for status of required material in store
– Request for Quotations (RFQ) – 2 to 3 vendors
– Preparation of comparative statements and should be approved by PM

– Terms & Conditions in a purchase order (PO) includes payment terms (45-60 days),
validity of quotation, unloading, VAT 14.5%, Entry tax 5% (for out-side India
procurements) etc.,
Quality Control Department (QA & QC)
The quality department keeps a check on materials received on site as well as
existing materials and also methodology of construction.

– For s – form concrete: Flow test is done (450 – 500mm)
– For conventional form concrete: Slump test is done (100 – 150mm +/- 20mm)
•All other necessary test and checks are for materials that arrive on site by the department.

VDF (Vacuum Dewatered Flooring)
VDF is a special type of flooring technique it is used to achieve
•High Strength
•Longer Life
•Better Finish
•Faster Work
•It is suitable for high abrasion & heavy traffic movement.
VDF concreting for BLUE block basement was observed and the
productivity was also calculated considering various activities involved
during concreting.
•Total duration: 2:35:00
•Total pump operation time: 21:00
•Pumped 19.25 cum out of 142 cum
•Therefore, a productivity of 13.56 was achieved in the process.
VDF pavement construction
• A pavement was constructed from the West entrance of the site to AMBER
block for fire & safety department clearance, as per the requirements.
• A total concrete quantity of 64 m3
was poured for a length of 8m x 38m (M20 –
150mm thick).
• HDPE sheets were laid below to prevent moisture entry and Saltax boards were
used to fill the joints.
• Panelized concreting was done in order to prevent crack development.
IPS Flooring (Indian Patent Stone flooring)
• IPS flooring is a basic type of flooring which provides good wearing properties.
• It is generally used for all types of floors and mix of concrete used for IPS
flooring specification is 1:1.5:3.
• As per the nature of use the flooring thickness of concrete is decided from 25
mm to 50 mm. It is laid over the concrete base (1:4:8), which is almost 3 to 4
inches thick plain cement concrete (PCC) base.
• The whole area is divided into 2m x 2m panels with the help of glass strips in
order to avoid spreading of cracks from one panel to another in case of repair or
damage.

Safety inspection:
•Daily inspection of plant and equipment’s by the operator
•Weekly Inspection of scaffold by scaffolding supervisor.
•Monthly Inspection of electrical hand tools
•Quarterly Inspection of temporary electrical systems.
•Yearly inspection of lifting machinery and equipment.
Record keeping:
•The safety officer is responsible for submitting a monthly safety report.
•The record of all health and safety related training, meeting, inspection and
audit will be kept in specified formats.
Project safety signs:
The size of safety sign boards was minimum 60x30 cm.
The safety sign boards included:
•Wear Proper PPE
•Wear Safety Helmet
•Wear Safety shoes and gloves
•First Aid Locations
To convey project safety statistics, a board was kept displaying at the entrance of
project site which included:
•Number of man- hours worked safely
•Lost time injuries
•Recordable incidents
•Trained employees etc.
Skilled Training Center
• This is a special initiative taken up by the SIMPLEX Infrastructures Ltd. in order to train
the labors in an effective way.
• The labors are trained in bar bending, masonry and shuttering i.e. both Conventional and
S-form shuttering.
• During the course of training, the labors are also taught the importance of safety when
working on site.
• For un-skilled workers, a training period of 45 days is fixed whereas for skilled workers,
the training period is 3 months.
Batching plants at Site
o The software used for the system is IDS software.
o Mix proportions have been saved as per the Client’s requirements.
o The silo’s capacity is 100MT – one truck of cement is 35 – 40MT.
o A truck of 6m3
is filled within 10-11 minutes time.
o The approximate cost of the plant is INR 50,00,000.
o An average hourly production of 30m3
is obtained from BP-2.
o Water content can be adjusted in the system with varying requirements.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AT SITE THAT CAN BE
RESOLVED
• After removal of the props,
workers haven’t stored the props
and steel stirrups properly, which
caused rusting and deterioration.
• Reinforcement at slab bottom
portion after removal of
shuttering.
• It is due to improper placement of
cover block and concrete pour.
• Scrap accumulation at site
• It was generated from the bar bending
workshop.
• It can be minimized by proper understanding,
execution of BBS and by providing proper
provisions to dispose the scrap materials.
• Land sliding happened near the skilled
training workshop.
• It was due to heavy rain, as well as
huge quantity of water that got
accumulated due to debris.
• Concrete was being transferred from plant to truck.
• In that process some quantity of concrete was falling down from
truck due to the carelessness of the operator and driver, by
leaving the channel open.

Pump efficiency • There were 4 pumps available on site for placement of concrete. • The cost per cubic meter of each pump was calculated separately. • The pump with more cost per cum was removed from site as it was nearing its salvage value. Stores & Purchase Department  Material Purchase Methodology – Purchase Indent received from site – to be approved by Project-in-charge – Checking for status of required material in store – Request for Quotations (RFQ) – 2 to 3 vendors – Preparation of comparative statements and should be approved by PM – Negotiation and fixing of final rates and T&C – Preparing of Purchase Order – Terms & Conditions in a purchase order (PO) includes payment terms (45-60 days), validity of quotation, unloading, VAT 14.5%, Entry tax 5% (for out-side India procurements) etc.,
  • 12. Quality Control Department (QA & QC) The quality department keeps a check on materials received on site as well as existing materials and also methodology of construction. CONCRETE •Cube test •Compression test •Tension test •Slump test (Workability) – For s – form concrete: Flow test is done (450 – 500mm) – For conventional form concrete: Slump test is done (100 – 150mm +/- 20mm) •All other necessary test and checks are for materials that arrive on site by the department. CEMENT – Fineness – Consistency – Initial Setting Time (IST) – Final Setting Time (FST) – Soundness test – Specific gravity – Compression test etc.

VDF (Vacuum Dewatered Flooring) VDF is a special type of flooring technique it is used to achieve •High Strength •Longer Life •Better Finish •Faster Work •It is suitable for high abrasion & heavy traffic movement. VDF concreting for BLUE block basement was observed and the productivity was also calculated considering various activities involved during concreting. •Total duration: 2:35:00 •Total pump operation time: 21:00 •Pumped 19.25 cum out of 142 cum •Therefore, a productivity of 13.56 was achieved in the process.

VDF pavement construction • A pavement was constructed from the West entrance of the site to AMBER block for fire & safety department clearance, as per the requirements. • A total concrete quantity of 64 m3 was poured for a length of 8m x 38m (M20 – 150mm thick). • HDPE sheets were laid below to prevent moisture entry and Saltax boards were used to fill the joints. • Panelized concreting was done in order to prevent crack development.
  • 16. IPS Flooring (Indian Patent Stone flooring) • IPS flooring is a basic type of flooring which provides good wearing properties. • It is generally used for all types of floors and mix of concrete used for IPS flooring specification is 1:1.5:3. • As per the nature of use the flooring thickness of concrete is decided from 25 mm to 50 mm. It is laid over the concrete base (1:4:8), which is almost 3 to 4 inches thick plain cement concrete (PCC) base. • The whole area is divided into 2m x 2m panels with the help of glass strips in order to avoid spreading of cracks from one panel to another in case of repair or damage.

Safety inspection: •Daily inspection of plant and equipment’s by the operator •Weekly Inspection of scaffold by scaffolding supervisor. •Monthly Inspection of electrical hand tools •Quarterly Inspection of temporary electrical systems. •Yearly inspection of lifting machinery and equipment. Record keeping: •The safety officer is responsible for submitting a monthly safety report. •The record of all health and safety related training, meeting, inspection and audit will be kept in specified formats.
  • 19. Project safety signs: The size of safety sign boards was minimum 60x30 cm. The safety sign boards included: •Wear Proper PPE •Wear Safety Helmet •Wear Safety shoes and gloves •First Aid Locations To convey project safety statistics, a board was kept displaying at the entrance of project site which included: •Number of man- hours worked safely •Lost time injuries •Recordable incidents •Trained employees etc.
  • 20. Skilled Training Center • This is a special initiative taken up by the SIMPLEX Infrastructures Ltd. in order to train the labors in an effective way. • The labors are trained in bar bending, masonry and shuttering i.e. both Conventional and S-form shuttering. • During the course of training, the labors are also taught the importance of safety when working on site. • For un-skilled workers, a training period of 45 days is fixed whereas for skilled workers, the training period is 3 months.

Batching plants at Site o The software used for the system is IDS software. o Mix proportions have been saved as per the Client’s requirements. o The silo’s capacity is 100MT – one truck of cement is 35 – 40MT. o A truck of 6m3 is filled within 10-11 minutes time. o The approximate cost of the plant is INR 50,00,000. o An average hourly production of 30m3 is obtained from BP-2. o Water content can be adjusted in the system with varying requirements.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AT SITE THAT CAN BE RESOLVED • After removal of the props, workers haven’t stored the props and steel stirrups properly, which caused rusting and deterioration. • Reinforcement at slab bottom portion after removal of shuttering. • It is due to improper placement of cover block and concrete pour.
  • 23. • Scrap accumulation at site • It was generated from the bar bending workshop. • It can be minimized by proper understanding, execution of BBS and by providing proper provisions to dispose the scrap materials. • Land sliding happened near the skilled training workshop. • It was due to heavy rain, as well as huge quantity of water that got accumulated due to debris.
  • 24. • Concrete was being transferred from plant to truck. • In that process some quantity of concrete was falling down from truck due to the carelessness of the operator and driver, by leaving the channel open.
