3. Introduction
• RedTacton is a new human area networking
technology that uses the surface of the human body
as safe, high speed network transmission path.
• RedTacton uses the minute electric field emitted
on the surface of the human body.
• It is developed by japanese technology NTT lab.
4. History
• The concept of intra body communication was first
proposed by IBM in 1996.
• The IBM technology had two limitations:
The operating range through the body was limited to a
few tens of centimeters.
The top communication speed was only 40Kbits/s!!.
• These limitations were overcome by NTT(Nippon
Telegraph and Telephone Coperation) located in tokyo,
Japan by using Photonic electric field sensors and finally
in 2005 they came up with a HAN technology called
“RED TACTON”.
5. Human Area Networks(HAN)
• HAN uses human body as communication network
and uses the concept of Redtacton to transmit the
data.
• HAN transmits the data between the human centered
electronic devices and computers and other network
devices via total human natural physical activities.
6. Working Principle
• Redtacton is based on the
principle that optical
properties of electro-optic
crystal can vary
according to changes
in electric fields.
• Redtacton allows information to be exchanged
between two transceivers without the need for a
server to store or process information.
7. CONTI……..
• Redtacton receiver and transceiver
are two major devices
in the transmission.
• Redtacton majorly depends
on the human natural
physical movements.
8. Working Procedure
• Transmitter sends data .
• Transmitting transceiver
creates a change in the field.
• Field from human body
dissipates into earth.
• Electric field is received
using sensing technology.
• Receiving transceiver
recognizes the change in the electric field.
• Sensing technology measures the weak electric fields induced.
• Electro-optical crystal uses laser to convert and read the signal.
10. Touch:
• Touching, gripping, sitting, walking, stepping and
other human movements can be the triggers for
unlocking or locking , starting or stopping the device.
11. Broadband and Interactive:
• Bandwidth does not deteriorate even with duplex
operation and simultaneous access by many years!
Duplex communication is possible.
The transmission speed does not deteriorate
in congested areas.
12. Any Media:
• In addition to the human body, various conductors
and dielectrics can be used as transmission media.
Conductors and dielectrics may also be used in
combination.
13. Applications
1)Elimination of human error which means an alarm
sounds automatically to avoid accidental
medicine ingestion.
2)Marketing application(context awareness)
which means touch advertising
and receive information.
14. CONTI……..
3)Personalization of mobile phones which means just
touching a phone makes it your own.
4)Personalization of automobiles which means just
sitting in the seat trigger the car to load all its presets,
just the way you like.
5)User verification and lock management at entrances
which means users verify’s and unlock with a touch.
15. Advantages
• Data transfer is faster and easier through this
technology.
• Data loss during transfer is less.
• Use of minimum amount of power(of some milli volt
range) .
• Security is more.
17. Conclusion
• We conclude that, when we compare Redtacton with
other technology present today it can give a better
performance over others.
• And we can say that to connect the network with in
short distances Redtacton is best.
• In this technology there is no problem of hackers as
our body itself a media.
