2. Humanization of pets Is to use, create or impose human
behaviors our pets.
Celebrate a birthday, dress them
with close, paint nails, ride them,
in a baby car …
Also avoid their natural behaviors
like smell other animals or run in
the park.
3. Humanization of pets is the opposite of total neglect. buy both
are considered abuse. Because, they don’t respect the pillars of
animal welfare.
1. freedom from hunger and thirst
2. freedom discomfort
3. freedom pain, an disease
4. freedom to express normal al natural behavior
5. freedom from fear and distress
4. Extreme capitalism
It’s a social and economic system
based on private property for the
benefit of a few and the
exploitation of many.
I think that the humanization of
pets is part of this, because
behind all the activities there’s a
big industry and human interest.
5. Capitalism doesn’t respect the environment and
only seeks human benefit.
In a family is like: I’m the boss and my pet is only
for my interest. (private property)
So, the interests of the animal aren’t important.
Who are in favor: It’s my animal and I can do
whatever I want with it.
6. Extended family
multispecies family People who consider their animal a
member of the family, be a dog or a cat.
They are not a minority, they are part of
the family like any other member.
Legally they have the same benefits like
protection.
Maybe It’s not a wrong concept, but it
must have limits.
7. It’s a relatively new concept that doesn’t see
animals as things but as sentient beings.
However, this concept and management of the
animal can have psychological consequences for
the animal and the family. Because the
relationship with an animal is different from the
relationship with a human.
8. We can show that humanization isn’t
adequate by seeing animals with
behavioral disorders.
Like aggressive, fear and difficulty
interacting with their species. Also
some diseases triggered by stress.
9. In my opinion:
I don’t agree with the extremes, for example the humanization of pets. I think
that the biggest responsibility we have as companions of animals is to respect
their nature and if we like to speed time with them, at least we should provide
them with the comforts and basic needs according to their species.
But I prefer to understand humanization of pets like extended family than like
extreme capitalism.
