9am - 9:45am (Morning Keynoter)
Tony Pagliarulo, Partner, NewVantage PartnersThe rapid pace of business change and radical innovations in technology have dramatically increased the importance of IT to achieving business goals. In the face of these challenges and in order to seize these opportunities, IT leaders need to transform their organizations or risk being left behind as their businesses evolve without them.
10:00am - 11:00am
(Early Morning Panels)
1. Best Practices for Migrating to the Cloud
Cloud technologies are here to stay. Whether it is applications hosted in the cloud, or Platform Services provided in the cloud, every IT executive must have a game plan for success in delivering these solutions to their customers. This panel will offer insights into best practices for migrating to the cloud solutions and provide feedback on what works,
including pitfalls to avoid.
Moderator: John Holland, SVP of Sales, Xand Corporation
Panelists: David Miner, Sr. Principal Software Engineer, Oracle; Clinton France, CEO, Krystallize Technologies, Mike Pellegrino, former CIO, Sun Products Corporation
2. Baseball Lessons for Business: The Business
Benefits from Applying Sabermetrics.
There is a 130% spread in the cost of-to-win rations in baseball over ten years. In business, the sales cost to generate a dollar is even greater. Just as baseball teams used Sabermetrics to increase their odds of winning for a quarter of the payroll of superstar teams, businesses can manage their odds. This session will explore analytic techniques to provide businesses their competitive edge.
Presenter: Bob Suh, CEO, OnCorps, Inc.
3. IT Security – Preventing Cyber Attacks – Keeping the Bad Guys Out
This panel will span the topic of IT Security across two areas. It will offer advice for preventing cyber attacks, followed by what you should do if you suffer a security breach.

Cushman & Wakefield
Panelists: Julie Fitton, CISO, Cloud Services, EMC Corporation; Scott Cowperthwait, Partner, Shipman & Goodwin; Martin McBride, Supervisory Special Agent, FBI

(Late Morning Panels)
1. Enterprise Mobility: How do Companies Stay Ahead in the Mobility Game?
Most enterprises have either already or are actively working on deploying mobile strategy. What are the key trends and predictions for 2014-2015? Hear from industry watchers about what they see ahead.
Presenter: Mark Lowenstein, Managing Director, Mobile Ecosystem
2. Workforce: Where will Our IT Talent Come From?
Demand for IT talent continues to increase. Specific training and skills will be needed as new platforms, technologies and business expectations emerge. Having talent in house (versus outsourcing) has value and reduces the loss of intellectual capital. In addition, few companies have sustained their formal in-house programs and technical and four-year schools may not be training to the level or skills needed. Consulting firms have been able to fill some of the gaps created but attracting resources from other companies has been expensive and at times, disappointing, while the move to outsourcing may have reached its tipping point. So what are the options?
Moderator: Bill Rucci, former CIO, Hartford Steam Boiler
Panelists: Dr. Marianne D’Onofrio, Professor and Chair of the Management Information Systems Department, Central Con(

3. Social/Business – Built In versus Bolted On
Social technologies, in all forms, are a way of life inside and outside enterprises. Leveraging social tools can no longer be an after-thought. To evolve to a true “social business” that realizes value from social channels, it needs to be embedded in everything a business does throughout the value chain. This includes integration across enterprise solutions data, and key touch points in the customer, employee, vendor and partner experience. Along with the intrinsic incorporation of social into major aspects of the business, methods analyzing performance is key for measuring value driven by social investments. Learn from experts in the field how companies of all sizes can move from leveraging social media tools to building a social business.
Moderator: Joe Miller, CIO, Flo-Tech

2. Insourcing – Two Companies Where the
Economics Made Sense
Social networking tools are changing the way we communicate as a business with customers and employees. People who have grown up in the digital age are entering the workforce and making demands that companies are not always prepared to manage or deal with. Too often compliance issues and legal concerns are used as an excuse to disengage from social media and technological advancement. IT summit 2014-program

  • 1. 9am - 9:45am (Morning Keynoter) Tony Pagliarulo, Partner, NewVantage PartnersThe rapid pace of business change and radical innovations in technology have dramatically increased the importance of IT to achieving business goals. In the face of these challenges and in order to seize these opportunities, IT leaders need to transform their organizations or risk being left behind as their businesses evolve without them. 10:00am - 11:00am (Early Morning Panels) 1. Best Practices for Migrating to the Cloud Cloud technologies are here to stay. Whether it is applications hosted in the cloud, or Platform Services provided in the cloud, every IT executive must have a game plan for success in delivering these solutions to their customers. This panel will offer insights into best practices for migrating to the cloud solutions and provide feedback on what works, including pitfalls to avoid. Moderator: John Holland, SVP of Sales, Xand Corporation Panelists: David Miner, Sr. Principal Software Engineer, Oracle; Clinton France, CEO, Krystallize Technologies, Mike Pellegrino, former CIO, Sun Products Corporation 2. Baseball Lessons for Business: The Business Benefits from Applying Sabermetrics. 3. IT Security – Preventing Cyber Attacks – Keeping the Bad Guys Out This panel will span the topic of IT Security across two areas. It will offer advice for preventing cyber attacks, followed by what you should do if you suffer a security breach. Moderator: Christopher Bernard, Managing Director, Cushman & Wakefield Panelists: Julie Fitton, CISO, Cloud Services, EMC Corporation; Scott Cowperthwait, Partner, Shipman & Goodwin; Martin McBride, Supervisory Special Agent, FBI 11:15am - 12:15pm (Late Morning Panels) 1. Enterprise Mobility: How do Companies Stay Ahead in the Mobility Game? Most enterprises have either already or are actively working on deploying mobile strategy. What are the key trends and predictions for 2014-2015? Hear from industry watchers about what they see ahead. Presenter: Mark Lowenstein, Managing Director, Mobile Ecosystem 2. Moderator: Bill Rucci, former CIO, Hartford Steam Boiler Panelists: Dr. Marianne D’Onofrio, Professor and Chair of the Management Information Systems Department, Central Con( Continued on page 2)
  • 2. 2 necticut State University; Leo Pellerin, CIO, United Way of Connecticut; Melisa Bockrath, Vice President & IT Product Leader, Kelly Services; Kay Lucas, President & CEO, iTech Solutions 3. Social/Business – Built In versus Bolted On Social technologies, in all forms, are a way of life inside and outside enterprises. Moderator: Joe Miller, CIO, Flo-Tech Panelists: Johnny Dranchak, CTO, Dow Jones Digital; Scott Holland, Co-founder, HireCampus; Jamie Pappas, Director, Global Brand Communications & Social Media Marketing, Akamai Technologies 12:30pm - 1:30pm (Lunch & Lunch Keynoter) Michael Leckie, RVP, Executive Programs, Gartner“Brain-Based Collaboration – Changing Your Relationship Without Even Knowing It” 1:45pm - 2:45pm (Afternoon Panels) 1. CIO Panel Discussion – Sustaining a Culture of IT Innovation Hear three prominent CIOs talk about what it means to lead an IT organization providing business value, advising company leadership and managing significant IT infrastructure and application changes in the name of innovation and forward- thinking leadership. Moderator: Greg Fell, Former Global CIO, Terex Corporation Panelists: Snehal Antani, CIO, Commercial Distribution Finance & CIO Enterprise Architecture, GE Capital Americas; Len Peters, CIO, Yale University; Joseph Puglisi, CIO, QDMH 2. Insourcing – Two Companies Where the Economics Made Sense Social networking tools are changing the way we communicate as a business with customers and employees. People who have grown up in the digital age are entering the workforce and making demands that companies are not always prepared to manage or deal with. Too often compliance issues and legal concerns are used as an excuse to disengage from social media and technological advancement. The panel discussion will focus on how to reconcile the need for security and control with the desire to remain flexible and competitive. Panelists: Doug Saunders, Senior Director, Information Technology, Republic Services; Shane Edmonds, CTO, etouches 3. Big Data for Small Companies – Two Case Studies More and more companies are becoming savvy about using big data. There are smart ways to harvest data in order to make better decisions. For those looking to tap into big data, here are two companies who waded through the hype and actually figured it out. Moderator: Tom Hart, COO, Eliassen Group Panelists: Niraj Jetly, CIO, NutriSavings; Greg Palmer, Founder, Scalinear, Inc. 2:45pm - 4:30pm (Networking Options) Post event networking party with fellow attendees and sponsors in the ballroom.
