MS Ranks number 51 in the number of people who have completed high school highest rate of obesity (35.3 percent of total population) highest rate of child poverty (31.9 percent), highest teen birth rate (71.9 per 1,000 women aged 15 to 19) highest overall rate of STDs.
Serve as resource “bridges” to connect local effective programs with available community support agencies. Specifically facilitate communication between smaller youth program with larger organizations. Ex. United Way, Boys and Girls Club
Engage in community events aimed at heightening awareness in areas of character building, education, youth empowerment, health, and mentoring.
Build long lasting relationships between our Giving Circle and local community programs.
Provide financial grants to local youth programs. Through creative fund raising methods.
Participate in civic engagement with local youth programs.
Heighten awareness of opportunities to create change through individual and small group philanthropy. Our group can serve as a model for how people can start similar projects and have an impact.
Emphasis is to assist community youth programs to Excel into becoming Self-Sustaining entities.
