• To develop diverse novel and nutritious maize-based products for maize
AFS;
• To improve technology and knowledge for small-to medium-scale
processors in maize AFS;
• To reduce postharvest losses in maize AFS; and
• To enhance livelihoods through maize and maize by-products for animal
feed in maize AFS.

1. Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Foundation:
The ADM Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the agriculture giant Archer
Daniels Midland Company, a global processor of animal feeds and biofuels.
The Foundation awards grants to organizations that promote sustainable
agricultural development, provide education for children and young adults, and
encourage community engagement.
2. Nestle Foudation (trainning, pilot and full grant. Max 100K)
3. Addax and Oryx Foundation
4. Create a Food industry fund (Post-harvest, quality, local supply-market
opportunities)
5. Large grant proposals to give to consideration to “traditional donors”-

(No large budget requirements)
1. Seek In kind support from Universities/Institutions for review
Papers “the nutritional aspects of maize agro-food systems” (CN 2016 not funded)
or studies that do not require field work
2. Open day for Food/Feed industry at CIMMYT (in, Mexico, in India) and IITA to
highlight work on post-harvest, dual-maize, processing+nutrition
3. Link more/better with ARIs for joint efforts to work on Nutrition, health and agriculture
In LIC.
4. Task force to develop a strong proposal on Nutrition in agri-food systems.
5. Organize available training material and promote it

  • 1. Adding Value for Maize Producers, Processors and Consumers (FP5)
  • 2. Adding Value for Maize Producers, Processors and Consumers (FP5) • To develop diverse novel and nutritious maize-based products for maize AFS; • To improve technology and knowledge for small-to medium-scale processors in maize AFS; • To reduce postharvest losses in maize AFS; and • To enhance livelihoods through maize and maize by-products for animal feed in maize AFS.

Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Foundation: The ADM Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the agriculture giant Archer Daniels Midland Company, a global processor of animal feeds and biofuels. The Foundation awards grants to organizations that promote sustainable agricultural development, provide education for children and young adults, and encourage community engagement. 2. Nestle Foudation (trainning, pilot and full grant. Max 100K) 3. Addax and Oryx Foundation 4. Create a Food industry fund (Post-harvest, quality, local supply-market opportunities) 5. Large grant proposals to give to consideration to “traditional donors”- Gates… 6. Strong WP aligned with FP1, FP3 or FP4

Seek In kind support from Universities/Institutions for review Papers “the nutritional aspects of maize agro-food systems” (CN 2016 not funded) or studies that do not require field work 2. Open day for Food/Feed industry at CIMMYT (in, Mexico, in India) and IITA to highlight work on post-harvest, dual-maize, processing+nutrition 3. Link more/better with ARIs for joint efforts to work on Nutrition, health and agriculture In LIC. 4. Task force to develop a strong proposal on Nutrition in agri-food systems. 5. Organize available training material and promote it
