9. July 2012: In the year since
South Sudan became
independent, hundreds of
thousands of people
returned to the country.
Many are living in crowded
camps, with few
possessions.
10. We are working with the Church in South Sudan to
provide food, shelter, safe water and better
sanitation to prevent the spread of disease.
11. We continue to work
in Pakistan, helping
families who lost
everything in the
2010 and 2011
floods to become
self-reliant again.
12. Two and half years since Haiti was devastated by
an earthquake, we are ensuring people are
prepared for future disasters, for example by
helping farmers use techniques that reduce the
risks from landslides.
