school s in the LAUSD— from 47% to 53%
(2009-2010) CAHSEE Intervention Program resulted in a larger increase in overall pass rate—from
53% to 63% --again one of the highest in the LAUSD
Presided over the school’s critical focus on decreasing dropout and truancy rates (previously 33%),
which has resulted in the school attaining the lowest dropout rate (i.e., 15%--2009-2010), and
largest increase in ADA of all the high schools in the Local District
Facilitated the refinement of the Smaller Learning Community (SLC) Implementation to a morerelevant structure to ensure greater student access to college readiness and/or career pathway
opportunities—resulted in 20% increase in (4 yr college/university) acceptance rate (2009-2010)

models to analyze student work and data-driven student-learning outcomes
Revised Master Schedule to a student-centered (8x2) schedule; to ensure students were

Facilitated allocation of scarce resources to align with student needs, as evidenced by learning
outcomes (e.g., CST and CAHSEE results), and/or audits or assessments provided by external
entities (e.g., WASC, SAIT); facilitated Per Pupil Funding pilot—site based budgeting
Initiated a Full Scope Audit of the ASB, Athletic, and General Fund as a means to initiate reform
measures relative to sound and accountable fiduciary practices for the school site
Facilitated an Educational Opportunity Audit, in collaboration with EdTrust West; in an effort to
analyze student success relative to college or career readiness, in the scope of A-G courses; as well
as the Rigor and Relevance of Instructional Curriculum
Instituted reforms in the Athletic Program of the school, which focused on gender equity and/or
