Branding Media & Messaging
1.1 Brand Development & Messaging Map
A series of two or three 60 minute in-take sessions that include the BRILLIANT PRODUCTS team and
your Team. This is an opportunity for our team to "download" key messaging and possible story
angles from leadership. Also includes an overall audit of tools that exist and those that are needed.
We then define a full inventory of marketing assets.
This list may include things like logo development, color palette, illustrations-- all of these assets will
be used consistently on packaging, marketing collateral, website and social media profiles.
Our team will also spend time with key members of your team digging in and exploring your "core"
brand message through an in depth analysis, similar to a SWOT, and "massage" this into a Messaging
Map which ensures consistent marketing messages. The discussion will also focus on "what's hot and
what's not" in your product category, your competition, your differentiators and reputation
management. We'll also talk about various client demographic and target audience profiles in greater
depth. This is an opportunity to introduce "other" key marketing players, such your customer service
team so that we can have direct access to what customers say about your product line.
1.2 Marketing/Sales Assets and Collateral Development
BRILLIANT PRODUCTS can/will also consult on the following items or develop them from scratch:

Pricing for some of these items will require hard costs budget or will be budgeted on a project

We will coordinate and direct a photo shoot for you. Photos will be used in a variety of marketing
functions, including PR and Social Media. BRILLIANT PRODUCTS will coordinate, provide models, provide
props, execute, photograph, edit and produce the following types and quantities of finished photos for
you. BRILLIANT PRODUCTS time included in retainer; hard costs (studio, models, props not included). An
example of a photo shoot final assets would be:

 BRILLIANT PRODUCTS has the rights to use photos for marketing and promotion purposes.
 Photo Shoot is based on one day of shooting and all editing to be done within a reasonable
time frame and number of edits.
 All above listed desired photos are the goal of the photo shoot. Due to the nature of working
with infants, all number of final photos listed above is +/- 10% and some categories of
photos may overlap where appropriate.
 Brilliant Kids Products to receive/keep sample product required for the shoot. Photo Shoot
to take place within 20 days of receipt of product.

1.3 Website Development
Once brand messaging is established, BRILLIANT PRODUCTS will implement a comprehensive online
visibility strategy, which is anchored by a strong core website that is optimized for Search Engines and
geared to convert visitors to customers. If warranted, we will often overhaul a current site to make it
"work for you" to the greatest extent possible.
In this cases where a a new product line and website is being launched, a Site Map will be defined from
the ground up, with a complete list of required functionality. Here are the steps to launch:

1.4 Optimized Social Media Footprint Setup
For many, the first step is deciding on what social media channels you should utilize and build profiles in –
and the optimization of each channel and profile makes a huge difference in your long-term success in
social media. Remember, this is not just about Twitter and Facebook. Great social media footprints may
include profiles and participation in niche social networks, specific media outlets, and smaller channels
that aren’t as mainstream. There are currently over 300 different places, channels and networks that are
available for participation in social media. Deciding which ones to choose is part of the science of social

1.5 Press Kit Development
Before the launch of your PR program, we draft the following items for use in providing background
information to media we are pitching on your behalf. These Associated Press (AP)-style materials
make up your press kit, and can be posted in your online press room as PDFs that can easily be
downloaded/saved/printed by media and visitors.

 AP-style biographies on inventor/founders, spokespersons, key stakeholders

1.6 Media List & Pitch Development
A media list is a database of writers, editors, publishers, producers,
bloggers, and other media both online and offline that would
potentially be good targets for coverage of your products. Every
media list requires a thoughtful approach and is customized to your
brand/products and includes national parenting, baby, kid and
maternity consumer media, consumer interest and women's TV
programs, newspapers, magazines, radio shows, as well as your
local publications and TV stations. In addition to developing this
list on your behalf, we also leverage our existing relationships with
media relevant to your audiences and goals for exposure.
1.7 Advertising Plan & Budget Allocation
While Public Relations (i.e. press coverage/giveaways), Search
Engine Marketing, and Social Media Campaigns are certainly the most cost effective approaches to
marketing, traditional advertising still bears value once sufficient funds can be allocated.
That said, we can develop a comprehensive plan (updated regularly with your input) that serves as a
roadmap for advertisement/sponsorship opportunities throughout the year. This plan/calendar also
allows us to spread and "layer" visibility across a variety of mediums and customer touch-points, such
as quarter, half or full page ads in print magazines, personal interaction at tradeshows and consumer
events we sponsor, and submissions for awards. The calendar includes (but is not limited to):
Advertising deadlines, Sponsorships of events and groups, Awards submissions, Tradeshow events,
advertising, and speaking opportunities.

2.1 Media Buying & Negotiation (Refer also to Section 1.7)
There is a plethora of media vying for your marketing and advertising dollars. It can be overwhelming
trying to decide on a strategy. To avoid a shot-gun approach, we will make recommendations on which
publications (and other media outlets) to target and when.
We will also negotiate the best deals for you and handle the insertion process (art direction and
deadlines) for ad placement. Upon contract, we will provide a full 12-month Media Plan to elucidate the
"first blush" advertising ramp up strategy we recommend, but allows for flexibility to allow us to jump on
unanticipated insertion opportunities as well.
2.2 Product Giveaways, Awards & Reviews
Product Give-a-Ways: A significant amount of exposure can be generated through Product Give-a-Ways
via On-line sponsorships, Celebrity Gab Bags, National Publication Features and Top Rated National Day
Time Talk Shows and more. At the start of our working relationship we will establish a product
sampling/give-a-way threshold to work within.
Award: Brilliant Products will assess what relevant awards are needed to support your company and
handle all applications and review processes. Additionally, securing reviews from customers and Top
Mommy bloggers on a consistent basis are all very helpful in capturing the spotlight and earning
credibility. BRILLIANT PRODUCTS monitors the Top Mommy blogs and industry awards deadlines and
discerns the inherent value of each opportunity.
There are many awards and blogs "out there" and some are simply not worth the investment of time or
shipping/entry fees. We keep tabs on which are worthwhile by surveying our extensive network of baby
and kid industry stakeholders-- from moms to media to pediatricians, etc. We handle the logistics of
submissions or samples for a review.
2.3 Secure Unpaid Endorsements
Endorsements from influential authorities like pediatricians, Family
Practitioners and lactation consultants for example can be very
powerful credibility builders with the press and your customer.
Tailored to fit the particular health or safety aspects/benefits of your
product, BRILLIANT PRODUCTS will leverage its network of contacts (and
follow up with yours) to secure these valuable endorsements or connect
you with organizations that might provide a useful resource for
implementing a study that "proves" the validity of your product
benefit(s).
2.4 Securing Press Coverage & Publishing Articles
Acting as your advocates to the press, we will consistently tout you as
an expert source for news and
feature stories relating to topics that are relevant to your product. Importantly, we also integrate search
engine strategy and optimized content into all media relations activities for enhanced visibility online.
This means that not only will your website ranks well on Google (etc.) searches, but an array of additional

links also populate the search results, such as your social media profiles and online articles we publish on
your behalf. This builds powerful visibility and credibility. The primary tactics we utilize include:
 Press releases
We will utilize our custom built media list as well as our online press release distribution resources to
push your news out widely and enhance organic SEO (links back to your website from the release). As
part of the unique value-add that BRILLIANT PRODUCTS provides all press releases are optimized to
enhance search engine visibility. For example, we typically do keyword popularity research prior to
writing a release, so that appropriate search terms are prominently featured in the release. We never
assume what consumers are searching, because something as simple as making a word singular or
plural can make a tremendous difference in search activity. We also use the keyword popularity
research to identify specific areas of interest and new trends then create press releases that revolve
around that topic using "long tail" key words. This enhances search engine visibility using a method
that other PR agencies simply do not use. Note: newswire distribution is an additional hard cost, but
is not necessary for every press release. Distribution strategy determined on a case by case basis.
 Pitching "news" directly to editors and reporters
In addition to continually creating and pitching story ideas and unique angles directly to targeted
reporters (even giving "exclusives" on a story when it makes sense), BRILLIANT PRODUCTS also
monitors a number of subscription-based media query services (e.g. HARO) that alert us when
reporters are looking for sources for specific stories. We respond to all relevant queries with pitch
ideas and the information most likely to get you included in that story.
2.5 BRILLIANT PRODUCTS Media & TV Tours
A media tour is simply a whirlwind meet-and-greet tour where we take your products
directly to the magazine editors at their offices. Our experienced "spokesmom"
Kathleen Tomes (mother of twins) will typically do the tour on your behalf-- a HUGE
cost savings. And with a presence in NYC (major national media market), BRILLIANT
PRODUCTS can offer its clients these cost-effective media tours that result in added
opportunities for quality press exposure.
As a retainer client, your product will also be featured regularly in our "Brilliant Baby
and/or Brilliant Kid TV Tours", which are featured on morning, midday and talk
shows nationwide. Your product will receive exposure to millions of Moms across the
U.S. through these features that run on major local network affiliates-- such as FOX,
CBS, NBC, and ABC-- as well as major independent stations. We also leverage this TV
coverage (and clips) for added credibility on your Website and Social Media (post on
Facebook & YouTube). Each year since launching our TV Tours we have been featured
on over 100 segments in the Top 50 Media Markets nationwide.

2.6 Email Marketing
Based upon your budget and email database, we may implement an email marketing campaign to
consistently touch customers and other key "influencer" groups to keep your products top of mind by
providing content than is educational and valuable! If you do not have a large quality database we may
recommend purchasing exposure through email blasts disseminated by baby and maternity magazines.
Also, BRILLIANT PRODUCTS publishes its own email newsletters that are distributed to more than 10,000
retail buyers, as well as mommy influencers such as top Mommy Bloggers and for Baby Products,
Lactation Consultants. We feature our retainer clients in these e-blasts regularly.
2.7 Social Media & Online Comment Marketing
Wikipedia defines Social Media as "the online tools and platforms that people use to share opinions,
insights, experiences, and perspectives with each other. Social media can take many different forms,
including text, images, audio, and video." While many think of social media in terms of just Facebook and
Twitter, it technically includes many facets of online communication including blogs, message boards,
podcasts, wikis, and social networks, location based services, and virtual reality.
Remember, this is not just about Twitter and Facebook. Great social media footprints may include profiles
and participation in niche social networks, specific media outlets, and smaller channels that aren’t as
mainstream. The good news is-- this is an extremely cost effective and powerful opportunity for juvenile
products because the "Mom demographic" is very active in social media and shops online!
For those Clients that already have profiles, this is the time we go and ensure that they are (a) compliant
with any governing bodies in your industry, the FTC, and also with the terms of use of the sites themselves
(more than 75% of all Facebook fan pages are in violation of the terms of use and will be taken down
within 6 months); and (b) optimized for content, position, and brand; and (c) actually set up with an ROI
strategy and purpose in mind. Some of our tactics include:

2.8 Search Engine Marketing (SEM)
Search Engine Marketing is essential to maximizing website traffic and continually increasing the
popularity of your website, both with key influencers and search engines like Google. SEM includes link
building and link exchange, directory submissions, key word strategies, blogging (on-site) and article
submissions (off-site), writing and distributing "SEO press releases", social bookmarking, etc.
These tactics are extremely important for working within the parameters of search engine algorithms,
which determine the ranking of your website on top search engines like Google. We can/will leverage all
of the content developed as a part of the marketing program to make your website and all of its content
(Facebook page too) increasingly more visible to customers searching online.

2.9 Website Updates
Gone are the days of brochure websites that remain static for long periods of time. Your company will

side of the site—not to mention press releases and awards to tout! Therefore, built into every retainer is
the option to switch out some of our recommended “on-going” monthly tactics for website update work.

BRILLIANT PRODUCTS Network We have a network of highly adept graphic, photo and video specialists that can
be tapped as needed by your "core" BRILLIANT PRODUCTS account team for collateral and marketing asset
development, etc.
Media Query Services We subscribe to a number of online media query services that tell us when reporters are
looking for sources for specific stories. These queries are received from all over the country, via email. We respond
to those queries appropriate for your company in an effort to secure interview/coverage opportunities.
Social Media Monitoring Tools may include Social Oomph, Viral Heat, HootSuite, mention, and others. This allows
us to monitor ALL social media resources and analytics through a single resource, schedule activity far in advance,
and monitor more closely and efficiently than directly interfacing with Facebook and Twitter. (Cost included in
retainer.)
Cision is a media service that provides detailed information on more than 450,000 editorial contacts at nearly
70,000 print, broadcast and Internet media outlets in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. The service
provides us with comprehensive information, at our fingertips, which helps us choose which media outlets and
editors are the most appropriate for us to contact on behalf of your company. These details include editorial
profiles of magazines, types of press materials accepted and editor pitching profiles to help us target the right
media.
Media monitoring and clipping services are tools we use to keep abreast of the coverage that your company
receives in the print and broadcast media. These services cover weekly and daily newspapers, national and
regional magazines and national and regional news stations. Clips are delivered to us on a daily basis and we will
provide you with monthly clipping reports, including a copy of the clip and an overall summary of the coverage for
the month. (If needed, an average cost for national service is $500/month.)

Infusionsoft We subscribe to Constant Contact and manage our Clients' email blast through this system. Database
management is essentially automated and the templates provided are attractive and customizable. Also, the
system is geared to maximize delivery for blasts and is easily integrated with Facebook and Google analytics.

Founded in March of 2008 by Kathleen Tomes, successful entrepreneur and mother of
adorable twins, Brilliant Products Intl. Inc., embodies Kathleen’s personal quest for parenting-

Prior to founding Brilliant Baby Products, Kathleen spent 13 years serving the sales and marketing needs of

Gretchen Pahia brings nearly 15 years valuable experience in both media and public
relations to the Brilliant Team. Over the years, Gretchen has developed key media and
public relations campaigns for clients in a wide variety of industries including children’s
products, health, medical, fitness, sports, law and additional consumer products. Her most
recent experience comes from Pitch PR and Orca Communications.
Well-known companies she has worked with include: Abrazo Health, Gallagher & Kennedy, UnitedHealthCare,
Experian, American Collegiate Adventures, I See Me Children’s Books and Sunrise Preschools. Gretchen lives by the
belief that “building lasting relationships with her clients as well as with the media is a strong environment for

Her education and professional background honed her strengths in creative writing,
research analytics, as well as, marketing and organizational psychology. After having her
two beautiful boys, Jocelyn jumped at the opportunity for a career change which focused on her love of all things
baby and children related with Brilliant Products. She especially enjoys sharing “brilliant” products that make
parenting easier and more fun! Jocelyn’s attention to detail is complemented by her enthusiasm, creativity and
thoughtful leadership.

mid-sized companies and working with dozens of manufacturers, from start-ups to high-profile brands, as a

Megan joins Brilliant Baby Products with 10 years of marketing experience under her belt.
Working primarily within the hospitality and real estate industries, Megan has a well-rounded
background that includes marketing strategy and analysis, event management, budgeting, media buying, business
development, and internet marketing. Megan focuses on media sales and strategy and prides herself on having
honest conversations surrounding the best way to utilize client funds so that success and satisfaction are the end
result.
Megan has an undergraduate degree in Finance from George Mason University and completed her MBA graduate
coursework at The George Washington University. When she’s not helping her clients achieve media success, she
enjoys relaxing with a good book or trip to the spa, weekend trips to the Florida Keys, cycling and boxing, and
spending quality time with her large family. She resides just outside of Washington, DC, in Northern Virginia, with
her husband and two cats.

Karen Apablaza brings 13 years of communications experience to the Brilliant Baby
Products team. Karen started her career as the in-house Public Relations Assistant at Bill
Blass LTD where she gained hands on knowledge of the fashion industry by working closely with the fashion
editors, stylists and celebrities.
Karen then moved on to smaller public relations agencies where she had much success in representing clients in
various fields such as fashion, toys, retail, accessories, bridal, luxury watches, yachts, books and education. Karen
worked on brands such as Destination Maternity, Madame Alexander Dolls, Elie Saab, Ariat, Girard-Perregaux, and
Alain Mikli.
Karen enjoys pitching as well as getting to know the editors at major publications. She also has experience with

This is an opportunity for our team to "download" key messaging and possible story angles from leadership. Also includes an overall audit of tools that exist and those that are needed. We then define a full inventory of marketing assets. This list may include things like logo development, color palette, illustrations-- all of these assets will be used consistently on packaging, marketing collateral, website and social media profiles. Our team will also spend time with key members of your team digging in and exploring your "core" brand message through an in depth analysis, similar to a SWOT, and "massage" this into a Messaging Map which ensures consistent marketing messages. The discussion will also focus on "what's hot and what's not" in your product category, your competition, your differentiators and reputation management. We'll also talk about various client demographic and target audience profiles in greater depth. This is an opportunity to introduce "other" key marketing players, such your customer service team so that we can have direct access to what customers say about your product line. 1.2 Marketing/Sales Assets and Collateral Development BRILLIANT PRODUCTS can/will also consult on the following items or develop them from scratch:  Images (Photo Shoot)  Packaging Consulting and Design  Brochures for Consumers  Sales Collateral for Buyers  Order Forms Pricing for some of these items will require hard costs budget or will be budgeted on a project basis because they would not fit into a monthly scope of a retainer without slowing the development of other items. Photos will be used in a variety of marketing functions, including PR and Social Media. BRILLIANT PRODUCTS will coordinate, provide models, provide props, execute, photograph, edit and produce the following types and quantities of finished photos for you. BRILLIANT PRODUCTS time included in retainer; hard costs (studio, models, props not included). An example of a photo shoot final assets would be:  Signature Shots & Lifestyle Photos: 3-5 Images o Lifestyle photos of Caucasian and 2 different ethnic babies  Creative Single Shot Photos: 2-5 Images o Shots of babies or kids wearing / using your product.

Due to the nature of working with infants, all number of final photos listed above is +/- 10% and some categories of photos may overlap where appropriate.  Brilliant Kids Products to receive/keep sample product required for the shoot. Photo Shoot to take place within 20 days of receipt of product.  All finished edited photos to be provided to you via Box.net. 1.3 Website Development Once brand messaging is established, BRILLIANT PRODUCTS will implement a comprehensive online visibility strategy, which is anchored by a strong core website that is optimized for Search Engines and geared to convert visitors to customers. If warranted, we will often overhaul a current site to make it "work for you" to the greatest extent possible. In this cases where a a new product line and website is being launched, a Site Map will be defined from the ground up, with a complete list of required functionality. Here are the steps to launch: 1. Launch 1.4 Optimized Social Media Footprint Setup For many, the first step is deciding on what social media channels you should utilize and build profiles in – and the optimization of each channel and profile makes a huge difference in your long-term success in social media. Great social media footprints may include profiles and participation in niche social networks, specific media outlets, and smaller channels that aren’t as mainstream. These Associated Press (AP)-style materials make up your press kit, and can be posted in your online press room as PDFs that can easily be downloaded/saved/printed by media and visitors.  AP-style company profile (History, mission, products, etc.)  AP-style biographies on inventor/founders, spokespersons, key stakeholders  AP-style fact sheet on your products  Online library of hi-res images and raw video footage 1.6 Media List & Pitch Development A media list is a database of writers, editors, publishers, producers, bloggers, and other media both online and offline that would potentially be good targets for coverage of your products. Every media list requires a thoughtful approach and is customized to your brand/products and includes national parenting, baby, kid and maternity consumer media, consumer interest and women's TV programs, newspapers, magazines, radio shows, as well as your local publications and TV stations. In addition to developing this list on your behalf, we also leverage our existing relationships with media relevant to your audiences and goals for exposure. 1.7 Advertising Plan & Budget Allocation While Public Relations (i.e. press coverage/giveaways), Search Engine Marketing, and Social Media Campaigns are certainly the most cost effective approaches to marketing, traditional advertising still bears value once sufficient funds can be allocated. That said, we can develop a comprehensive plan (updated regularly with your input) that serves as a roadmap for advertisement/sponsorship opportunities throughout the year. This plan/calendar also allows us to spread and "layer" visibility across a variety of mediums and customer touch-points, such as quarter, half or full page ads in print magazines, personal interaction at tradeshows and consumer events we sponsor, and submissions for awards. The calendar includes (but is not limited to): Advertising deadlines, Sponsorships of events and groups, Awards submissions, Tradeshow events, advertising, and speaking opportunities. It can be overwhelming trying to decide on a strategy. To avoid a shot-gun approach, we will make recommendations on which publications (and other media outlets) to target and when. We will also negotiate the best deals for you and handle the insertion process (art direction and deadlines) for ad placement. Upon contract, we will provide a full 12-month Media Plan to elucidate the "first blush" advertising ramp up strategy we recommend, but allows for flexibility to allow us to jump on unanticipated insertion opportunities as well. 2.2 Product Giveaways, Awards & Reviews Product Give-a-Ways: A significant amount of exposure can be generated through Product Give-a-Ways via On-line sponsorships, Celebrity Gab Bags, National Publication Features and Top Rated National Day Time Talk Shows and more. At the start of our working relationship we will establish a product sampling/give-a-way threshold to work within. Award: Brilliant Products will assess what relevant awards are needed to support your company and handle all applications and review processes. Additionally, securing reviews from customers and Top Mommy bloggers on a consistent basis are all very helpful in capturing the spotlight and earning credibility. BRILLIANT PRODUCTS monitors the Top Mommy blogs and industry awards deadlines and discerns the inherent value of each opportunity. There are many awards and blogs "out there" and some are simply not worth the investment of time or shipping/entry fees. We keep tabs on which are worthwhile by surveying our extensive network of baby and kid industry stakeholders-- from moms to media to pediatricians, etc. We handle the logistics of submissions or samples for a review. 2.3 Secure Unpaid Endorsements Endorsements from influential authorities like pediatricians, Family Practitioners and lactation consultants for example can be very powerful credibility builders with the press and your customer. Tailored to fit the particular health or safety aspects/benefits of your product, BRILLIANT PRODUCTS will leverage its network of contacts (and follow up with yours) to secure these valuable endorsements or connect you with organizations that might provide a useful resource for implementing a study that "proves" the validity of your product benefit(s). 2.4 Securing Press Coverage & Publishing Articles Acting as your advocates to the press, we will consistently tout you as an expert source for news and feature stories relating to topics that are relevant to your product. Importantly, we also integrate search engine strategy and optimized content into all media relations activities for enhanced visibility online. This means that not only will your website ranks well on Google (etc.) searches, but an array of additional

This builds powerful visibility and credibility. The primary tactics we utilize include:  Press releases We will utilize our custom built media list as well as our online press release distribution resources to push your news out widely and enhance organic SEO (links back to your website from the release). As part of the unique value-add that BRILLIANT PRODUCTS provides all press releases are optimized to enhance search engine visibility. For example, we typically do keyword popularity research prior to writing a release, so that appropriate search terms are prominently featured in the release. We never assume what consumers are searching, because something as simple as making a word singular or plural can make a tremendous difference in search activity. We also use the keyword popularity research to identify specific areas of interest and new trends then create press releases that revolve around that topic using "long tail" key words. This enhances search engine visibility using a method that other PR agencies simply do not use. Note: newswire distribution is an additional hard cost, but is not necessary for every press release. Distribution strategy determined on a case by case basis.  Pitching "news" directly to editors and reporters In addition to continually creating and pitching story ideas and unique angles directly to targeted reporters (even giving "exclusives" on a story when it makes sense), BRILLIANT PRODUCTS also monitors a number of subscription-based media query services (e.g. HARO) that alert us when reporters are looking for sources for specific stories. We respond to all relevant queries with pitch ideas and the information most likely to get you included in that story. 2.5 BRILLIANT PRODUCTS Media & TV Tours A media tour is simply a whirlwind meet-and-greet tour where we take your products directly to the magazine editors at their offices. Our experienced "spokesmom" Kathleen Tomes (mother of twins) will typically do the tour on your behalf-- a HUGE cost savings. And with a presence in NYC (major national media market), BRILLIANT PRODUCTS can offer its clients these cost-effective media tours that result in added opportunities for quality press exposure. As a retainer client, your product will also be featured regularly in our "Brilliant Baby and/or Brilliant Kid TV Tours", which are featured on morning, midday and talk shows nationwide. Your product will receive exposure to millions of Moms across the U.S. through these features that run on major local network affiliates-- such as FOX, CBS, NBC, and ABC-- as well as major independent stations. We also leverage this TV coverage (and clips) for added credibility on your Website and Social Media (post on Facebook & YouTube). Each year since launching our TV Tours we have been featured on over 100 segments in the Top 50 Media Markets nationwide. Online Visibility & Engagement

If you do not have a large quality database we may recommend purchasing exposure through email blasts disseminated by baby and maternity magazines. Also, BRILLIANT PRODUCTS publishes its own email newsletters that are distributed to more than 10,000 retail buyers, as well as mommy influencers such as top Mommy Bloggers and for Baby Products, Lactation Consultants. We feature our retainer clients in these e-blasts regularly. 2.7 Social Media & Online Comment Marketing Wikipedia defines Social Media as "the online tools and platforms that people use to share opinions, insights, experiences, and perspectives with each other. Social media can take many different forms, including text, images, audio, and video." While many think of social media in terms of just Facebook and Twitter, it technically includes many facets of online communication including blogs, message boards, podcasts, wikis, and social networks, location based services, and virtual reality. Remember, this is not just about Twitter and Facebook. Great social media footprints may include profiles and participation in niche social networks, specific media outlets, and smaller channels that aren’t as mainstream. The good news is-- this is an extremely cost effective and powerful opportunity for juvenile products because the "Mom demographic" is very active in social media and shops online! For those Clients that already have profiles, this is the time we go and ensure that they are (a) compliant with any governing bodies in your industry, the FTC, and also with the terms of use of the sites themselves (more than 75% of all Facebook fan pages are in violation of the terms of use and will be taken down within 6 months); and (b) optimized for content, position, and brand; and (c) actually set up with an ROI strategy and purpose in mind. SEM includes link building and link exchange, directory submissions, key word strategies, blogging (on-site) and article submissions (off-site), writing and distributing "SEO press releases", social bookmarking, etc. These tactics are extremely important for working within the parameters of search engine algorithms, which determine the ranking of your website on top search engines like Google. We can/will leverage all of the content developed as a part of the marketing program to make your website and all of its content (Facebook page too) increasingly more visible to customers searching online.
