CONFIDENTIALtmshealthsolutions.com 3 The Team Richard Bermudes, MD is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and renowned thought leader in the field of neuromodulation (TMS) and currently serves as the President of the Clinical TMS Society. Dr. Bermudes serves as Chief Medical Officer of the medical practice. Karl Lanocha, MD, a Board Certified Neuropsychiatrist and early adopter of TMS therapy, leads TMS Health Education. TMS Health Solutions is managed by a Management Services Organization - TMS Heath Partners. The MSO is led by Brad Hummel, CEO and Ara Chackerian, Executive Chairman. Prior to partnering with TMS Health Solutions, Brad and Ara built and managed a large independent network of medical imaging centers in California. They have also created successful businesses in vascular ultrasound services, telepharmacy services, and medical education. Dr. Bermudes, Dr. Lanocha, Brad and Ara have leveraged their collective backgrounds to enable the development of a new Integrated Care Delivery Model that embraces innovations such as TMS, telepsychiatry and patient-engagement apps. It also enables physicians to spend more time with patients in custom-designed facilities that revolutionize the patient experience and deliver evidence-based outcomes. Financial management is provided by VP of Finance and Revenue Cycle Management Jeremy Gimbel, MBA, CPA. Jeremy has 18 years of corporate finance experience with 9 years in the outpatient healthcare provider industry. CONFIDENTIALtmshealthsolutions.com 8 Physician Leadership: Dr. Richard Bermudes Dr. Bermudes completed specialized training in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in February 2010, and was the first provider of TMS therapy for depression in the Sacramento, CA region. In 2013 Dr. Bermudes chaired the first annual meeting of the Clinical TMS Society and served as a founding board member. In 2015 he was elected president of the Clinical TMS Society. Dr. Bermudes is a recognized national speaker on TMS practice organization, insurance reimbursement and policy development. Dr. Bermudes has presented CME presentations and authored articles on TMS therapy, cognitive therapy techniques, the metabolic syndrome, and medication-associated obesity. He is the principal editor of the book A Clinical Guide for Managing Metabolic Abnormalities in the Psychiatrically Ill: What Psychiatrists Need to Know (American Psychiatric Publishing, Inc., 2007). He is the principal editor of the upcoming book Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation: Clinical Applications for Psychiatric Practice (American Psychiatric Publishing). Dr. Bermudes earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego and completed his residency training in psychiatry and in family medicine at the University of Cincinnati. He has completed a fellowship in cognitive therapy and cognitive therapy supervision at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Board Certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, Dr. Bermudes has completed advanced training in TMS at the Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School and at The Brain Stimulation Lab at Medical University of South Carolina.
- 8. CONFIDENTIALtmshealthsolutions.com 9 Physician Leadership: Dr. Karl Lanocha Dr. Lanocha is a neuropsychiatrist who specializes in treatment- resistant depression. He was trained in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at the Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation at Harvard Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Lanocha has more than 25 years of experience in neuromodulation and brain stimulation therapy. He was among the first physicians in the country to provide TMS after it was approved by the FDA in 2008, and has treated hundreds of patients. He has lectured widely about TMS and has coauthored several important papers about the long term benefits of TMS. He joined TMS Health Solutions in 2013 after successfully running his own practice for many years. In addition, he served as the Medical Director for Psychiatric Services at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH for 20 years. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and was named by New Hampshire Magazine as one of New Hampshire’s “Top Docs” for four years. He completed his medical training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, with a clinical clerkship at Guy’s Hospital in London, England. He then completed residency training in psychiatry at the Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital in Baltimore and a Fellowship in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Tavistock Clinic in London, England.
