FEE – THE FRENCH WIND ENERGY ASSOCIATION
Created in 1996, France Energie Eolienne (FEE) supports and represents the wind energy sector (both
onshore & offshore) in France.
Missions
ü FEE represents the wind industry at public, na9onal, European and regional authori9es and regula9ng
bodies,
ü The associa9on ac9vely par*cipates in the crea*on of legisla*ve and regulatory texts,
ü It supports its members and facilitates their development in France. The associa9on promotes the
interests of the associa*on members and organises networking events as the annual na*onal
summit: “colloque na9onal éolien” (around 1000 par9cipants in September 2016).
• 326 members (October 2017): they built more than 90% of the installed wind turbines in France and
operate 85% of them.

THE STRUCTURING OF AN INNOVATIVE INDUSTRY
§ 96 MW of FOW pilot farms in France : 4 x 24 MW, the worldwide
biggest investment for the sector;
§ The basis of the boSom fixed projects: manufacturing sites, supply
chain, R&D, educa9on; EMR test sites; etc.;
§ The REX of the 1st demonstrators in Europe;
§ The installa9on and future commissioning of Floatgen;
§ The ports and infrastructures investments…

THE NECESSITY OF AN AMBITIOUS PLANNING
§ The actual energy plan « PPE »: 0,2 to 2 GW of addi9onal capacity for MRE
(FOW, 9dal wave) awarded by 2023;
§ Our ambi*on: 6 GW of FOW commissioned by 2030 with several tenders;
§ The PPE needs to be precise (no shared volumes with other MRE any more)
and ambi*ous à a requirement for every infrastructure / industry
investment (especially the ports);
§ The industry is ready to deliver;
§ Our objec*ve: a 1st commercial tender launched in 2018 & awarded in
2019 (BriSany and the Mediterranean Sea can welcome such projects).
