Data Storage Innovation Conference: Whoever Owns the Data Owns the Customer
Cloud storage has fundamentally altered the mobile industry. Cloud services are now being integrated at every level of the stack from application to OS integration, to the chipset, diminishing the need for local storage. While the benefits of mobility, data accessibility, disaster recovery, and endless storage have been heavily touted by industry luminaries, there is one key revenue-driving idea that has largely slipped under the radar. Whoever owns the data will inevitably own the customer. As consumers digital lives shift to the cloud their videos, images, text and voice messages etc. access to data will inevitably become one of the biggest factors in customer acquisition and loyalty. In this session, Bitcasa VP of Product, Luke Behnke will argue that cloud services are changing the competitive landscape of the mobile industry.
