Content Standard :
2.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to demonstrate understanding of a
variety of linear and non-linear texts in the form of print and non-print materials using a range of
strategies to construct meaning.
2.3 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to read independently for information
and enjoyment.

2. Lesson Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
(i) Match at least five antonyms correctly to the five highlighted words in the story “The Hare and the
Tortoise.”
(ii) Answer five comprehension questions orally by referring to the story entitled “The Hare and the
Tortoise.”
(iii) Rearrange the sentence strips in the correct order based on the picture given.

envelopes that contain pictures
taken from the story and sentence
strips.
6. Pupils are to paste the pictures as
instructed by the teacher.
7. Teacher asks pupils to find
rearrange the sentence strips and
match them with the suitable picture.
8. Pupils are required to decorate
their mini book.

Poison Ball Game
1. Teacher plays a song and passes
the poison ball to a random pupil.
2. When the music stops, the pupil
