Labelling conveys information from shipper/handler, warehouse, right through to consumer a requirement in many importing countries that the products be labelled in the country's language when selling to the national market. requirements vary from country to country it is important to follow closely the buyer's labelling instructions in the labelling of food products and drugs, besides the country of origin marking, it is often a requirement that the names of the foreign manufacturer and local distributor, the ingredients and the expiry date be clearly marked on the package

11. Insured value – retail price or your cost of replacement? It is advisable for you to insure cargo at a minimum of the "commercial invoice value" or "Cost of goods and Freight," the CIF value. Most manufacturers and shippers insure cargo for CIF VALUE plus 10%.On international shipments the terms of the Irrevocable Letter of Credit (LOC) may dictate insured value. It is advisable to insure international cargo at CIF plus 10 and the cost of freight.
