Procedures
3. For the English lessons, students receive and send activities through a Whatsapp group. I
will send them the link for the videocall meeting through a private Whatsapp group the
institution share with the students as well as with their parents. Moreover, the lesson plan
will be uploaded to a webpage called “Educabot” which the institution chose as a campus
for their students.
ROUTINE (5 minutes)
Purpose: To get students be ready to start the lesson.
I will greet students and ask them how they are today. While the teacher listens to
students´ comments, she will ask each of them to take a seat. As the teacher listens to
them, she will prepare her computer to connect online with the other half of students.
Transition comment to link each stage of the lesson with the next one: Hello
everybody! Let´s start the lesson by checking the topic of our last lesson… Are you ready?
WARM- UP (5 - 10 minutes)
To introduce the lesson, I will show students an activity included in the following link:
Your dream job - English ESL video lesson (islcollective.com)
As they watch the video clip, they will have to answer some reflective questions related
to what they see in the video clip. (They will be included in the video clip).
Scaffolding strategies:
Transition comment to link each stage of the lesson with the next one: Well done!
Now, let´s make what a job interview looks like…
PRESENT ATI ON (15 minutes)
I will present students the following video: Your perfect job - English ESL video lesson
(islcollective.com) in which people talk about their jobs and they make a quiz about jobs´
preferences to discover if their job is the one for them.
Visual support (video / chart).
Encourage students to use their critical thinking skills to complete the quiz given within the video clip.
Encourage students to work collaboratively to develop their language skills and become active learners
on their learning process.
4. Scaffolding strategies: activate student´s prior knowledge through fill-in-the gap
activity, provide the context of the lesson by asking students to work with key concepts.
Transition comment to link each stage of the lesson with the next one: Well done!
Now we are ready to see how jobs interviews are presented in BBC programmes…
DEVELOP M ENT (PRACTI CE and PRODUCTI ON)
Activity # 1 (5 - 10 minutes)
Before watching the video, I will ask students to look at the pictures and say if they know
any of them. Then, I will encourage them to tell something about the one they know.
5. Then, I will ask students to work in pairs and answer these reflexive questions:
Do you enjoy watching comedy programmes? Why / Why not?
Which ones are popular in your country?
Which comedy programmes do you enjoy watching?
Scaffolding strategies: activate student´s prior knowledge through visual aids, provide
the context of the lesson by open-ended questions regarding student´s interests.
Transition comment to link each stage of the lesson with the next one: Well done!
Now let´s read about a real story about job´s first day… Do you think first day at a new
job could be the best day of your life? Let´s find it out!
Activity # 2 (5 - 10 minutes)
After reflecting on student´s own perspectives about comedy programmes, I will ask them
to predict the answers to the questions given. Then, I will invite them to work in pairs (or
individually) and read a short synapsis of what they are going to see on the BBC video
clip programme I will share with them. Also, I will ask them to read carefully the
information given and answer the following questions:
What type of things do you think Gavin needs to learn on his first day at work?
Who do you think he will meet?
This is the synopsis of the BBC video clip:
6. Scaffolding strategies: encourage students to work in collaborative tasks to infer the
answer to the context through the context given, transmit to students how to develop the
activity by giving examples with open-ended questions to reflect on what type of
information is needed to answer the questions given.
Transition comment to link each stage of the lesson with the next one: Well done!
Now let´s work with exercises focused on the video clip shared….
Activity # 3 (5 - 10 minutes)
I will ask students to work in pairs / small groups. I will explain to students that it´s time
to develop some exercises regarding what they have seen on the video clip.

they hear in the correct place. After that, I will ask them to listen and check the exercise.
Scaffolding strategies: model and define the aim of the activity, give an example with
each of the sentences given in the chart, encourage students to use their critical thinking
to reflect on their own learning process.
Transition comment to link each stage of the lesson with the next one: Great work
everybody! Now, it´s time for a last activity in which you have to use all the expressions
and vocabulary learned to talk about a day in your life… Ready?
CLOSURE (15 - 20 minutes)
The aim of this final task is to encourage students not only to use all their knowledge in
order to comprehend what the task is about, but also to make use of the vocabulary and
grammar structures learned during the lesson.
8. First, I will ask students to read the following text about a gym instructor. Then, I will
ask to answer the following questions: Is his daily routine similar to yours? How is it
different?
After this reading activity, I will encourage students to write about a normal day in their
lives. To develop this activity, I will encourage students to write notes using the following
guideline:
Then, I will ask each of them to talk for two minutes about a normal day in their lives and
find what each of them have in common with their peers´ daily lives. For this activity, I

collaborative work in which students develop their language / orality skills by referring
to their own experiences on everyday life (I will guide them by giving an example with
my own experiences).
