- My name is Aymeric. My website is TaskArmy, I have been working on it since May last year and the goal is to make online outsourcing much easier than it is today.
- Why don’t you outsource? Why?Because outsourcing is usually associated with poor quality It is hard to find a good service provider and it takes too much time.Another common issue is that when you outsource offshore, you are confronted to people with different cultural background, with different ways of communicating that can cause problem when working with them.Too many people today don’t even consider outsourcing because they think it is not worth it. It would take too much time to find someone, so they prefer to do it themselves.Stop that! With TaskArmy, I want you to realize the benefits of outsourcing, and to reduce the gap between the moment you realize you need something done by someone and the moment it is actually done. By removing the barriers you have today when outsourcing, I want to make you actually enjoy outsourcing.
- Today TaskArmy focuses at fixing the outsourcing of tasks, as opposed to projects. A task is “I need an icon done for my iphone app”, a project is “I need an iphone app”.Because of that, we can put the focus on services rather than jobs. You need a new Wordpress website? Search for wordpress on TaskArmy and you will find all the Wordpress related services that freelancers can do for you at a fixed price. It is as easy as going to the supermarket.We also screenthe service providers before they can list their services on TaskArmy. Every single service you find on TaskArmy has been approved by me manually.Having lower prices is not the priority on TaskArmy. We don’t encourage the freelancers to push their prices down, we banned the bidding system you see on all the outsourcing websites because it is an abomination.Anyway. Another way TaskArmy reduces that gap is by focusing on details. Every single notification you will get from TaskArmy, you will be able to reply to directly from your email client. This is big because it means that you are now working with your outsourced team members the same way as with your employees.
- 5:42I think there is huge opportunity in the outsourcing industry and Freelancer.com has proved it. After the global financial crisis, many people realized their jobs are not that safe and started creating jobs for themselves.There are more ebusinesses out there than ever before and these people need help with their websites!
- So our target market today: e-business owners, freelancers and web agencies who want to complement their offering. For example, we have a web designer who can now offer SEO services on top of what he does.
- No seriously, on top of stealing them from Freelancer, I want to educate the small businesses on how to leverage the internet world via the blog, via seminars, ebooks, etc…I mean, how many plumbers still don’t have a website? Or still don’t use Google Places? Or still don’t use Google Adwords?
- Today, TaskArmy takes a cut on each transaction done on the website. Tomorrow, I want to change this and offer a subscription plan.
- Of course, there are already some big players in the online outsourcing space. Elance / oDesk / Freelancer are suitable for projects, your iphone app development for example. You don’t want to go through one week and 100s of candidates to get a smaller task done.And then on the other end of the spectrum there is Fiverr.com that is a marketplace of stuff people are ready to do for $5.TaskArmy is the in-between, making the outsourcing of skilled tasks a breeze.
- We pre-screen the service providers, we focus on smaller tasks and we remove friction in every details of the website.For example, if after three days a freelancer hasn’t sent you an update, we automatically remind him to do so. It is almost invisible on the website, but it means that you as a client won’t freak out because you haven’t heard about the work for two weeks.
- 9:41There will always more to do on TaskArmy but I believe that I have reached the point where the platform is mature enough for me to focus on marketing and educating.I have also started hiring people to help me with ongoing development tasks, customer support, etc…

- I should have mentioned that you can run your own TaskArmy website in your own niche with your own brand.Think of it as a StackExchange for service marketplaces. TaskArmy today focuses on web dev / web design / web marketing? Well you should go after bookkeeping, law, accounting etc.
