  2. 2. INTRODUCTION • McLaren Automotive (formerly known as McLaren Cars) is a British automotive manufacturer based at the Mclaren technology centre in working, England. The main products of the company are supercars, which are produced in-house in designated production facilities. In July 2017, McLaren Automotive became a 100% owned subsidiary of the wider McLaren Group. • The company went on to release the McLaren F1 in 1992. Between 1994 and 2010, McLaren Cars was registered as a 'dormant company', before the of McLaren Automotive in 2010. The new company was originally separate from the existing McLaren companies to enable investment in the new venture, but brought together in July 2017 after Ron Dennis sold his shares in McLaren Automotive and McLaren Technology Group
  3. 3. INTRODUCTION • McLaren's Formula One founder Bruce McLaren was born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1937. McLaren learned about cars and engineering at his parent's service station and workshop in his hometown, Auckland, New Zealand. By 15, he had entered a local hillclimb in an Austin 7 Ulster; winning his first race in the car. In 1958, McLaren arrived in the United Kingdom with the ‘Driver to Europe’ scheme, intended to help Australian and New Zealand racers to compete in Europe. His mentor, Jack Brabham introduced him to Cooper Cars, a small team based in Surbiton, Surrey. Auspiciously starting his Formula One career in 1958, McLaren joined the Formula One team a year later. That same year, he won the US Grand Prix at age 22, making him the youngest Grand Prix winner to that date. He stayed with Cooper for a further seven years, winning three more Grands Prix and other races, driving for Jaguar and Aston Martin, & winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 with Ford. •

  5. 5. PLACE • McLaren Automotive is based at the McLaren Technology Centre, alongside the rest of the McLaren Group, and at the adjacent McLaren Production Centre. The two facilities are connected by a subterranean walkway, with the MPC built partially underground to minimise its presence. • In 2017 McLaren announced the construction of the £50m McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC) at the Advanced Manufacturing Park between Sheffield and Rotherham. The facility will build carbon fibre chassis for future McLaren road cars. The facility aims to give McLaren greater control over the manufacture of composite tubs, providing an opportunity to increase the pace of the design and development of the tubs. Full production will begin at the MCTC by 2020. The MCTC was officially opened by The Duke of Cambridge, Duchess of Cambridge, and the Crown Prince of Bahrain in November 2018.
  6. 6. Global sales for McLaren Automotive, the British creator of luxury sportscars and supercars, rose to 4,806 cars in 2018 with sales up 43.9 per cent over the previous year. This is another record for the company which has increased sales every year since its formation in 2010. • Global sales of 4,806 cars in 2018, up 43.9% compared to 2017 • North America continues to be largest market plus 49.2% year-on-year UK ‘home’ market growth •Bespoke division, MSO, triples order book in one year North America, which represents McLaren’s biggest single market and over a third of global sales, surpassed the 5,000 cars sold mark since sales started in 2011 and achieved another year of record growth.

  8. 8. • Following the introduction of two new models, the 570S Spider from McLaren’s Sports Series range as well as the 720S from its Super Series range, the company saw major increases in car sales to its European and Chinese markets. • European sales rose 44% while domestic sales were 5% higher. China saw the biggest market growth though, with a 123% year-on-year increase. The company also celebrated selling its 5,000th car in North America, which continues to be the firm’s biggest market.
  9. 9. • McLaren’s UK domestic market remained strong, achieving a 49.2 per cent year-on-year growth. • The company celebrated building its 15,000th car in the summer at the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Woking, Surrey, where all its cars are hand-assembled, and consistently achieved over 20 cars a day with production exported to over 30 markets. • The MPC also built its most varied mix of products yet including examples from each of the company’s now firmly established Sports, Super and Ultimate Series offerings. As well as the 600LT and McLaren Senna, the company also launched the first two of 18 new products or derivates under its £1.2bn Track25 business plan, the fully deposited Speedtail and, most recently, 720S Spider.
  10. 10. • In 2017, McLaren recorded a total sales figure of 3,340 cars. • Growth was supported by a rise in the number of retailers with openings in Bellevue, Washington and Troy, Michigan in North America, a second site added in Tokyo plus new sites in Sao Paulo, Guangzhou in China and Leeds and Hatfield in the UK, signalling a strong domestic market. The brand is now retailed in 32 markets with the additions of Riga in Latvia and Warsaw in Poland.

  12. 12. • McLaren's first purpose-built road car was the F1, based on a concept developed by Gordon Murray that he convinced Ron Dennis to back. McLaren Cars went into hibernation following the completion of the F1's production run, and McLaren didn't return to the production car market until launching McLaren Automotive in 2010, just prior to the release of the MP4-12C (eventually simplified to just 12C) in 2011. • McLaren launched its current three-tier product structure in 2015, dividing their range of cars into the Sports, Super, and Ultimate Series. Cars in the Sports and Super Series are given names based on the car's power output in PS, followed by a model designation (C for club, S for sport, GT for grand tourer and LT for longtail). The entry-level Sports Series consists of the 570S, 570S Spider, 570GT, 540C, 600LT and 600LT Spider. The Super Series, considered to be McLaren's core model range, originally included the 650S, 625C, and 675LT. These were replaced with the 720S in 2017 (and 720S Spider in 2018). The high-end Ultimate Series was led by the P1 and P1 GTR, now it includes the Senna, Senna GTR and the upcoming Speedtail, intended to be the successor to the original F1. The F1 and 12C were retroactively included in the Ultimate and Super Series, respectively.
  13. 13. • SENNA AND SENNA GTR The McLaren Senna is a limited-production mid-engined sports car manufactured by McLaren Automotive. The car is the third addition in the McLaren Ultimate Series, joining the F1 and the P1; however, it is not a direct successor to either of the cars. The Senna was unveiled online by the company on 10 December 2017, with the official unveiling taking place at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. PRICE IN INR-Rs 24.91 crore
  14. 14. • SPEEDTAIL AND ELVA • The McLaren Speedtail is a limited-production hybrid sports car manufactured by McLaren Automotive revealed on October 26, 2018. This car is the fourth addition in the McLaren Ultimate Series, after the Senna, the P1, and the F1. The car is also part of the 18 new cars or derivatives that McLaren will launch as part of its Track22 business plan. • The name Elva is derived from elle va, which means "she goes" in French. The car is named after the lightweight early open top race cars developed by Bruce McLaren. The M1A, M1B and M1C were produced between 1964 and 1967. Due to limited staff, production was outsourced to British automobile manufacturer Elva. • PRICE- Around 16.04 crores AND Rs 4.6 crore RESPECTIVELY
  15. 15. • P1 AND F1 • The McLaren P1 is a limited-production mid-engine plug-in hybrid sports car produced by British automobile manufacturer McLaren Automotive. ... It is considered by the automotive press to be the successor to the McLaren F1, utilising hybrid power and Formula One technology, but does not have the same three-seat layout • The McLaren F1 is a sports car designed and manufactured by British automobile manufacturer McLaren Cars, and powered by the BMW S70/2 V12 engine. • PRICE- 10.1 CR AND 41 CR (BOTH DISCONTINUED)
  16. 16. • 720S AND 570S • The 720S features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. It is capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds .ALSO HAS SUB MODELS – SPIDER AND 765LT • The McLaren 570S is a sports car designed and manufactured by British car manufacturer McLaren Automotive. It was unveiled at the 2015 New York International Auto Show. THE Sub models are- spider, 570 gt, 600LT • Price-₹ 4.65 Crore and Rs 4.57 crore

DaimlerChrysler was the engine supplier to McLaren Racing through its Formula One partner Mercedes-Benz division. The final stages of production of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren took place at a designated assembly facility at the McLaren Technology Centre
  18. 18. • The SLR featured a 5.5 litre supercharged V8 engine that produced 626 PS (460 kW; 617 hp) at 6500 rpm and 780 N⋅m (575 lbf⋅ft) of torque at 3250–5000 rpm.It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0–97 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and 0 to 100 mph (0–161 km/h) in 6.3 seconds. • In 2006, the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 Edition was announced. The "722 Edition" produced 650 PS (478 kW; 641 hp) at 6500 rpm and 820 N⋅m (605 lb⋅ft) of torque at 4000 rpm, with a top speed of 337 km/h (209 mph) (3 km/h more than the standard SLR). A new suspension is used with 19-inch (480 mm) light-alloy wheels, a stiffer damper configuration and 0.4 inches (10 mm) lower body. • In 2007, the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Convertible was announced, which has been available from late 2007. The car uses the same supercharged 5.5 litre V8 that is in the coupé. • A limited edition called the SLR Stirling Moss was introduced. The car was the final SLR produced and a tribute to Stirling Moss. Beneath the scissor-doors is a plaque with Moss' signature on it. • The partnership between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren resulted in three further cars being proposed. The P9 was to be a mid-engined baby supercar with a less expensive model, with the P8 (or "SLS") competing with cars such as the Ferrari F430, Bentley Continental GT, and Aston Martin DB9. Both cars were to be powered by naturally aspirated V8 engines. The P10 would have been an SLR replacement. • All three cars were aborted in 2005, with Mercedes rumoured to have considered the projects simply too costly to turn into a solid business case, although Mercedes' AMG subsidiary produced a flagship sports car called the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. The car had a naturally aspirated V8 with over 570 bhp (430 kW; 580 PS); however, it is not thought to be related to the P8 project
  19. 19. • McLaren chose to use AdSmart to reach households which earned over £150k a year, liked sports cars and owned homes £1million+ in value. In addition to these demographic targets, they also added tight geographical controls to their segment to reach their target near the key dealerships. • McLaren is launching its first ever television ad as the car marque enters a new market segment by unveiling a range of sports cars, and seeks to take on “traditional” competitors including Audi and Porsche.
  20. 20. The pan-European campaign, which launches in the UK, Germany, France and Switzerland on 7 March and targets high net worth individuals, will run on TV for four weeks using Sky AdSmart. It will be supported by a partnership with Top Gear in the UK and Germany and by a digital campaign.
  21. 21. • During the Cannes Lions Awards that are being held between the 21st and the 25th of June, on the festival’s website has been published a panel discussion about a very interesting partnership started last year between McLaren, Coca-Cola, and Amazon. • The first two have been partners since 2018 when for the first time in history the Coca-Cola logo appeared on a Formula 1 car. On this occasion, however, the project involved also a second American giant: Amazon. This resulted in ‘Driven to Deliver’, an entertaining video featuring the two McLaren F1 Team drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz (who has since moved to Ferrari) driving around in a Coca-cola-branded 600LT and delivering Amazon parcels and Coca-Cola Zero bottles to people.
