Welcome to Natural Resources!
 The existence of natural resources is very integral to all
forms of life on earth and these resources are overused
in residential, commercial, industrial and transportation
sectors.
 As environmental scientists, it is our responsibility to
explore the causes of the overconsumption of these
resources and develop sound strategies to overcome
the overconsumption.
 Whether you are preparing for an environmental science
related career or just taking this course to satisfy
general education requirements, I hope that this course
will enhance your understanding regarding the impacts
that the limitation of these resources will cause to our
society.

My name is Asma Wasim, you can refer to me as Ms. Wasim
and I am glad to be your instructor for this course.
I am always available in discussion boards, emails and even
by phone.

Course Description
This class will introduce the concept of natural resources
by studying topics such as land, soil, rangeland, forest,
water, atmosphere, minerals, and energy. The
management, use, and environmental impacts associated
with these resources will also be studied. Emphasis will be
placed on the United States within the context of the
global environment.

 A rubric is a tool that highlights what is required for the successful completion of an assignment. It is
designed to ensure that you have a clear understanding of what you must do to succeed on an
assignment, and it gives the instructor a concrete way to evaluate your work. Rubrics also ensure that
instructors are looking for the same elements across all the submissions for a particular assignment,
making sure that you and your classmates are being graded according to the same expectations. Nearly
every assignment you have at SNHU will include a rubric to assist in grading. You should review any
supporting rubrics before you begin working on an assignment. Remember: Rubrics exist to help you
succeed!
