2. PURPOSE:
The purpose is to meet the challenging
requirement of modern day blood to efficiently
collect blood during emergency.
SCOPE:
This system presents an alert system to the
donor about requirement of their blood to a
person in need and also provides online status of
blood group wise availability of blood units in all
the licensed blood banks in the state.
3. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Scarcity of rare blood group.
Unavailability of blood during emergency.
Less awareness among people about blood
donation and blood transfusion.
Deaths due to lack of blood during operations.
4. SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION
Hardware requirements:
PROCESSOR: Snapdragon or more
RAM: 256MB
ROM: 4GB
Software requirements:
Operating system : Android 4.4 or late.
Available in : Google PlayStore.
Languages : ANDROID.
5. IMPLEMENTATION
Designing a application that collects information of
volunteer blood donors and alerts the donors about
requirement of blood during emergency.
A front end user interface application design.
Creating a database of volunteers blood donor with location,
blood group, phone number etc attributes.
Syncing the application data with google maps to locate the
various places.
Finding out the volunteers nearby.
Automatic sending of alerts to volunteers stating requirement
of their blood.
Integrated messenger.
Shortcuts for Facebook and Gmail in the homepage.
6. HOW I DO
This section provides you with information
and online services to avail various Citizen
Services being provided through this
application. The list, however, is not
exhaustive, as we are committed to adding
more other services into this application.
Keep use this app for new updates!!
Check availability of blood stocks.
Online registration of blood donor.
Check the status of issued blood.
8. ADVANTAGES
Provides a paperless donor
room .
Real time information form
collection to testing and use of
blood and blood products.
The citizen can access the
availability of blood units by
using Application.
Alert mechanism for regular
donors , other blood
organizations.
9. IMPORTANCE OF BLOOD BANK
• Blood banks are laboratory centers that are
responsible for the collection, processing, typing,
safety and storage of blood for research and
medical purposes.
• Most blood collected for medical use is
transfused into patients who need blood because
of trauma, for surgery or as therapeutic
treatment of diseases, such as sickle cell disease
and anemia and as a result of chemotherapy In
all, 23 million units of blood are transfused
annually, according to the American Association
of Blood Banks (AABB).
10. BLOOD TRANSFUSION
Blood transfusion is the process
of receiving blood products into
one's circulation intravenously.
Transfusions are used in a variety
of medical conditions to replace
lost components of the blood.
Early transfusions used whole
blood, but modern medical
practice commonly uses only
components of the blood, such as
red blood cells, white blood cells,
plasma, clotting factors, and
platelets.
11. Short-term storage Long-term storage
Routine blood storage is 42
days or 6 weeks for stored
packed red blood cells or
pRBC (the most common
blood product), and
involves refrigeration but
usually not freezing.
Long-term storage is
relatively uncommon,
compared to short-term
storage. Cryopreservation
of red blood cells is done to
store rare units for up to 10
years.
STORAGE OF BLOOD IN BANK
12. CONCLUSION
• The application will be coded using
languages such as: Android.
• The main objective of blood bank is to
develop an emergency application for people
who needs blood by using alerting system.
