Endometriosis is abnormal growth of
endometrium outside the uterine cavity.
We can also describr it as ectopic endometrium
means endometrium but at abnormal site.

The main theories for the formation of ectopic
endometrium are retrograde menstruation,
müllerianosis, coelomic metaplasia and
transplantation etc.
Mainly due to the harmonal imbalance.

Harmonal therapy is temporarely effective in
controlling abnormal growth but removal by
surgery is more effective
