- NVT has a 25 year history of creating robust transmission products for the Physical security industry. We have enabled many of the leading analog and IP security devices. The NVT switches have received many awards. The CLEER switch was recently recognized as one of the top 30 innovations for 2014 by SSI and won best in show at ISC west. There are millions of end points enabled on NVT transmission products. Governments globally, some of the largest Universities and Hospitals, the biggest hospitality brands in the world and distributed enterprises have used NVT products. The commonality of all customers is they saved money, eliminated risk and complexity as the migrated to an IP platform.
- Lets, start by understanding the typical camera topology The analog cameras connected via coax cable back to the DVR. The big challenge is how do we connect the IP camera to the NVR that is typically over 300ft away. This is where costs, risks and complexity arises – New cabling, power, back-up power and cooling in all the IDF closets to support the introduction of PoE switches, planning and professional services costs. With many customers, LAN requirements are more costly than the new IP surveillance solution. It is this barrier that is stopping many customers from gaining the benefits of IP. NOT ANY MORE.
- At every end point you would have the Eclink that supports the IP end point. The enterprise grade NVT CLEER switch has 24 downlink Ports each able to deliver 100mbs full duplex with PoE+ to an IEEE compliant device. There is a management and console port for local access into the industry leading management GUI interface. Two 1 GB Ethernet ports and two 1GB fiber ports for campus like deployments. CLEER comes standard with PowerWISE technology including: Power budget of 500w at 110v and 1000w at 220v. There is an optional 1,600 watt supply available. Power supply is hot swappable You can use either AC or DC power source You can stack up to 4 switches together to create redundancy and power sharing. - The typical Analog Camera deployment would have a DVR connected to the analog camera via coax cable with many endpoints going way beyond the 300ft reach of traditional data switches. - The CLEER switch has many award winning feature not found in other Ethernet over Coax solutions. The first is Bandwidth capabilities. Most other solutions the bandwidth speed reduces the further the distance. The CLEER switch bandwidth is 100Mbs symmetrical, full duplex regardless of distance. Some players mislead users by combining the up and download speeds to make it look like the bandwidth speeds are higher. For example if we did that we would claim 200Mbs when combining the up and download speeds.
