2. The Startup India scheme was launched by PM Narendra Modi on 16
January 2016 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Under this programme,
the Government has launched many schemes to help young
entrepreneurs.
3. Here are the major benefits of the Startups India
1. Tax exemption for start-ups for the initial three years.
2. An amount of Rs. 10,000 crore to support and fund start-ups.
3. The capital gains tax on venture capital investments will be removed.
4. Patent registration fee will be reduced by 80%.

6. Self-certification compliance for start-ups across India.
7. There will be no government inspection for three years for start-ups.

6. Startup Scheme 1: Support For International Patent Protection In
Electronics & Information Technology (SIP-EIT)
The scheme is launched by the Indian government with the aim of
providing financial support to MSMEs and technology startup units for
international patent filing to encourage innovation.
Under the scheme of SIPEIT , the beneficiary can enjoy the
reimbursement of INR 15 Lakhs per invention or 50% of the total expenses
This scheme is valid up to 30.11.2019.
7. Startup Scheme 2: Software Technology Park (STP) Scheme
This scheme is headed by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI).
AI and Software companies will be considered eligible for availing
benefits from this scheme.
This scheme provides data communications servers, statutory services,
incubation facilities, training and value-added services etc to help the
start ups of IT industry.
There is no time limit to avail this facility.
8. Startup Scheme 3: Electronic Development Fund (EDF) Policy
Startups pursuing innovation in technology sectors like electronics, IT, and
nanoelectronics can apply for availing benefits from this scheme.
The aim of this scheme is to achieve “Net Zero Imports” by 2020.
The EDF policy is set up as a “Fund of Funds” to participate in
professionally-managed “Daughter Funds” which will provide risk capital
to companies which develop new technologies.
9. Startup Scheme 4: Credit Guarantee
The credit guarantee scheme is headed by Credit Guarantee Fund Trust
for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE).
The scheme is applicable for new and existing Micro and Small
Enterprises engaged in manufacturing or service activities.
One can avail both term loans and/or working capital facility up to INR
100 Lakhs per borrowing unit.
10. Startup Scheme 5: Coir Udyami Yojana
The coir processing unit registered with Coir Board under Coir Industry
(Registration) Rules, 2008 are eligible under this scheme.
The Coir Udyami Yojana supports setting up of coir units by funding up to
10 lakhs plus one cycle of working capital, which shall not exceed 25% of
the project cost.
The rate of the interest will be counted on base rate and the repayment has
to be done within 7 years.
