1. In view of Department of Education’s vision towards the studentry,
we the GAYAB ELEMENTARY SCHOOL teaching staff envision globally
competitive pupils who passionately love and care their country, whose
values, skills and competencies enable them to achieve their potential in
their chosen field. As a child friendly institution, we dreamed to build
graduates who continuously improved itself to better serve its community
and its country as well.
SCHOOL POLICIES, PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES
GAYAB ELEMENTARY SCHOOL envision to have a harmonious
place to dwell with in which Teachers, Parents, Students and
Stakeholders help hand to meet the necessary requirements, follow the
necessary guidelines and obey the rules and regulations regulated in this
constitution.
A. POLICIES and GUIDELINES
1. Wear decent attire upon entering the school such as shirts, pants
and uniforms. Wearing of sleeveless, shorts, backless, tubes and
mini-skirts are strongly discouraged.
2. Boys are required to have a 3x4 haircut as prescribe by the school
and Girls are encourage to have ponytails for them to be well
groomed. Any hair color is not encouraged.
3. “Basura Mo, Ibulsa Mo” thus everybody is required to throw
garbage in proper places. Littering inside the campus is strongly
discouraged.
4. Observe WATCH. We Advocate Time Consciousness and
Honesty. Flag ceremony well be held at 7:15 in the morning.
Therefore, don’t be late.
5. “No to Bullying.” Bullying will not be tolerated such as tormenting,
excluding, being unfriendly, cyber bullying, pushing, punching,
hitting, shoving, slapping, tickling, headlocks, kicking, inflicting
school pranks, teasing, fighting, use of available objects as
weapons, unwanted physical contacts and sexually abusive
comments.

3. SCHOOL-BASED CHILD PROTECTION
AND ANTI-BULLYING POLICIES
Statement of Intent
Gayab Elementary School is committed to each student’s
success in learning with a caring, responsive, and safe environment
that is free of discrimination, violence, and bullying. Our school
works to ensure that all students have the opportunity and support
to develop to their fullest potential and share a personal and
meaningful bond with people in the school, community. If bullying
does occur, all pupils should be able to tell and know that incidents
will be dealt promptly and effectively.
As a school we will aim to respond promptly and effectively
to all issues of bullying.
Objective of the policy
To ensure that all teaching staff including the school head,
pupils and parents have understanding of what bullying is,
To ensure that all teaching staff including the school head

and follow it when bullying is reported.
All pupils and parents should know what the school policy is
on bullying, and what they should do if bullying arises.
As a school we take bullying seriously. Pupils and parents
should be ensured that they will be supported when bullying

It is important that counseling is maintained for the both parties,
even when sanctions have been applied.

C. Outcomes for Prevention and Intervention Program
The bully (bullies) will be asked to genuinely apologize and
must engage in restorative;

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Many children and young people do not speak out loud
being bullied and may indicate by signs or behavior that he or she
is being bullied. Adults should be aware of this signs and should if
a child:

their parents.
3. Educate pupils on the dynamics of bullying, the anti-bullying policies
of the school as well as the mechanism for the anonymous reporting
of acts of bullying.
4. Educate parents and guardians about the dynamics of bullying. The
child protection or anti-bullying policy of the school and how parents
and guardians can provide support and reinforce the policy at home.
5. Devise prevention, intervention, protective and remedial measures to
address bullying.
6. Conduct the capacity bullying activities for guidance
counselors/teachers and members of Child Protection Committee.
7. Ensure effective Implementation of the anti-bullying policy and monitor
compliance there with;
8. Ensure the safety of the victim of bullying, the bully and the bystander
and determined the pupils needs for protection.
9. Ensure that the rights of the victim, the bully and the bystander are
protected and upheld during the conduct of the investigation.
10. Accomplish and submit reports, whenever there is an incident of
bullying, maintain a record of all proceedings related to bullying

12. Gambling in any form that involved money and that cause fights
and absences is prohibited.
13. Successive absences without valid reason are not allowed.
D. PROCEDURES
1. Upon the opening of the classes, every enrollee is required to:
Kindergarten – Bring a copy of birth certificate ( PSA)
Grade 1 – a copy of birth certificate, ECCD Checklist
Progress Report Card and Diploma
Grade II-VI = Report Card
Transferees = Report Card, Birth Certificate and Certificate of
good moral character.
2. Time Schedule
Teacher and Pupils must be in school at 7:15 in the morning
to attend the flag ceremony from Monday to Friday.
Classes in the morning will start at 7:30 AM.
RECESS time for each grades are as reflected in the
teacher’s class program not exceeding 15 minutes.
Note: There will be no recess time in the afternoon except for the
Kindergarten Afternoon session.
Morning Dismissal will not be earlier than 10:30 and not later
than 12:00 noon.
Classes in the afternoon will start at 1pm.
Afternoon Dismissal will not be earlier than 3:30 and not later
than 4:30 afternoon.
Note: Teacher/Pupil that will arrive late after the official time will be held as
late

Has unexplained cuts or bruises or shows signs of being in a
fight.
Comes home starving (money/lunch has been stolen)
Becomes aggressive, disruptive or unreasonable
Is bullying other children or siblings
Changes their eating habits (stop eating or over eats)
Is unable to sleep
Wets the bed
Is frightened to say what’s wrong
Gives unlikely excuses for any of the above.
These signs and behaviors could indicate other problems, but
bullying should be considered a possibility and should always be
investigated.

6. A. Prohibited Acts
1. Being unfriendly, excluding, tormenting (e.g. hiding books,
threating gestures) or any slanderous statement or
accusation that causes the victim undue emotional distress
like directing foul language or profanity at the target, name-
calling. Scarcasm, spreading rumors, and commenting
negatively on victims look, clothes and body; and
2. Cyber bullying or any bullying done through the use of
technology or any electronics means.
3. Pushing, punching, hitting, shoving, slapping, ticking,
headlocks, kicking or any act of violence;
4. Inflicting school pranks, teasing, fighting, and the use of

B. Prevention and Intervention Programs
1. Pupil/parent should report and incident of bullying to any
member of the school child protection committee.
2. The committee member should make it clear to the victim
that revenge is not a solution.
3. Respond promptly and investigate reports of bullying.
4. Restore a sense of safety to the victim and assess the pupils
need for protection;
5. The committee member will record the details of the incident
and discuss it with the pupils to ensure accuracy.
6. Protect from bullying of the pupil/person who report acts of
