Zoltar Says Make Your Wish. EduSummit workshop @IxDA20

The slides were presented at the workshop we hosted at EduSummit20 during Interaction20 Conference in Milano. The aim of the workshop was to explore the core principles and applications of Speculative Design & Design Fiction practices by using futurish cards, a generative card deck that helps people to play with scenarios and artefacts from the future.

  19. 19. Cards are grouped into 5 sets
  20. 20. Cards from sets can be combined to create different prompts for envisioning scenarios and artefacts
 from the future

  23. 23. The cards can be easily integrated with different techniques from Design Fiction (diegetic prototypes) to Futures Thinking (scenario matrix)
  24. 24. The deck is aimed to stimulate concept and scenario generation and it does not meant to represent the entire process of a speculative design project
  25. 25. futurish.cards is gratefully inspired by Near Future Laboratory - DF-DBCPC 0-7 and Situation Lab - The Thing From The Future
  26. 26. Recommendations for speculation
  27. 27. #1 go beyond commercial applications
  28. 28. #2 facilitate alternative visions
  29. 29. #3 imagine possible interactions and interpretations
