For example, there may be a need to maintain uniformity of properties or because your property has listed building status. How much will it cost? Internalsolidwallinsulationcostsonaverage£4,000– £16,500*,althoughcostsmayvarysignificantlybasedupon theamountofworkrequiredornumberofwallswhichare selectedforretrofitting. How will my property benefit? Similarlytoexternalwallinsulation,internalwallinsulation canreduceyourfuelbills,warmyourhome,andpotentially addvaluetoit. Additionally,IWIhasmanyofitsownbenefitsincluding: ●● Scaffoldingnotbeingrequired (helpfulifexternalaccessislimited) ●● Theabilitytoinstallonaroom-by-roombasisand redecorate ●● Installationcanbecarriedoutinallweathers. - 9. 1 2 3 5 4 9 1 Windows Preferably,theinsulationboardis fittedintothewindowanddoor cavitiestopreventcoldpatches developing.Itisentirelyuptoyouifyou wouldlikeyourwindowsand/ordoor cavitiestobeinsulated,asyoumay wanttoretainthesizeanddesignof thewindowsframe. 2 External wall Theexternalwallsarenotaffectedby internalsolidwallinsulationandyour propertywilllookexactlythesame fromtheoutside. 5 Surface coating Thisisthenewplasterworkthatcovers theinsulationboards.Thiscan subsequentlybepaintedor wallpaperedjustlikeyourcurrent internalwall. 3 Internal wall Thisistheoldinternalplasterwhichis nowinsulatedbytheinsulationboard andcoveredwithnewplasterwork. 4 Insulation Thislayerreducestheamountofheat lostthroughtheexternalpartofyour walls.Itcaneitherbeinstalledas insulationboardsfitteddirectlytothe insidewall,orasinsulationboards attachedwithwoodenbattensfixed tothewall. - 12. 12 Streets Ahead will appoint one of our independent assessors to contact you and arrange a Green Deal Assessment for a time which suits you. The assessment is really important as it provides you a Green Deal Assessment Report (GDAR). Without this you will not be able to claim the £3,500 grant. Cost TheGreenDealAssessmentisavailableatadiscounted priceof£49+VAT*andincludesafullassessmentofyour property. For each property that signs up for a Green Deal Assessment, funding will be made available to a local community building to improve its energy efficiency. Time Normallytheassessmentiscompletedinlessthan2hours. Visit TheGreenDealAssessorwillusuallyneedtobeprovided withinformationsuchasthenumberofoccupantslivingin yourproperty,yourheatingmethodanduse,andaccess toallareasincludingyourloft.Pleasenotephotographsof yourpropertywillbetaken. Boiler upgrades Reduceyourgasbillsandsaveupto£300† ayear. Heating controls Heatingcontrolsenableyoutoregulateyourheatingand hotwatermoreefficientlyresultinginlowerfuelbills.
