The diplomatic assignment has as a subject the configuration and regulation of the riverbed of a part of the River Aliakmona that extended inside the limits of municipality of Kastoria between the settlements of Mesopotamia-Chiliodentro-Poria. This is a key sector of Aliakmona through which relieves one of the largest drainage basins of water of western Macedonia.
The need of studying the riverbed of this section resulted after the continuous and repeated for a big time period appearance of multiple problems in riverine regions because of weakness of the riverbed to receive the outflow for period of reintroduction T = 50 yearswhich presents quite big price.
The estimation of the outflow was done with use of the rational method which is clearly empiric method but perhaps one of the most widespread, because of her relative simplicity.
The regulation of the riverbed and the configuration of the proposed projects was done after the insert and processing of primary data topographic, hydraulic and hydrologic, in special software of rivers simulation, HEC-RAS ( Hydrological Engineering Center – River Analysis System, US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS ). The preparation of data on their insert was done with the designing program Civil 3D Student Version.
The procedure of this design requires beforehand, except of the mathematical solution of the problem about the hydraulic models a more general investigation not only of the designing area but also of the wider hydrological basin. The procedure of simulation consists of two stages, the subordinate situation with the problematic bed and the formulated stage with the enlarged and arranged bed.
The remedies are proposed according to the national technical standards and contribute satisfactory to the handling of the flood of the riverine regions which have a diverse character.
