DESCRIPTION
The Audim (AUDit to IMprove) application was developed for a Healthcare Ser vice Provider based on UK.
Audim is a real time monitoring system, to be used by the UK National Health Service (hospitals and medical
institutes for inspection). AUDIM application contains mainly two panels, Web Panel as well as Mobile Panel.
The main aim is to use PDAs (mobile devices) to monitor & inspect various aspects of hospitals with the use of
some scheduler as well as Questionnaires. Data is gathered via PDAs, which is then synchronized with the
central database.
The data on this database is used to generate reports which are being used by the management of the
hospital. These reports indicate whether performance targets are being met. When the system gathers data
via the PDA, if a failure is founda “task” is created and assigned to concerned people.
This ensures that someone must fix the failure. This is managed by Calendaring and Action Plans.
In summary : one can always ensure something is working properly if one tests it regularly. If one does these
regular tests, and if the test meets certain standards, then things are being managed properly. This helps to
ensure good “Governance”.

OBJECTIVES
KEY CHALLENGE
The Project Objectives were:
1. To evaluate best solution for Hospitals to monitor/inspect various
aspects of the hospitals
2. Generate the various reports with accurate data that will be used
by management to map the performance of the Hospital.
3. Provide a Scheduler to check various fails for the particular
Location based on various Ser vices.
4.Use Microsoft .Net Compact Framework & C#.Net for frontend
and MS SQL Light version for the database in PDA Application
5.Provide a solution to manage their Governance related
documents (small CMS like module).
PROJECT APPROACH/ACTIVITIES
The Project was divided into various phases to achieve the best results in less time with optimal utilization of
available .Net features, capabilities and new enhancements.
Phase I: Understanding Requirements of an application, architecture design and database design. Review risk
points of application.
Phase II: Created a web admin panel to perform various administrative functionalities.
Phase III: Created data entry pages, which allows user to take Audits, create a Tasks, Manage Tasks via
scheduling functionality.
Phase IV: Created module to synchronize the PDA data to central database ser ver using Web Service.
After taking an Audit, creating a Task on PDA, data should be synchronized with central database with
the use of Web Service.
Synchronization should be completed in minimal time.
Generate data summary reports based on the answers given in Audits and that should be with correct
data.
Generate PDF for all the data summar y reports.

AUDIM application is live in use and running successfully and productively. I t i s currently being used by 10 UK
based Hospitals t o monitor/inspect various aspects of their hospitals and they are ver y glad with functional-
ities and perfor mance of the application.
