• He born in 1950 & Educated at Stowe School.
• In sixteen year he set up Student magazine
• In 1970 he founded Virgin mail for recording
• Two years later he built a recording studio as
Virgin Records
• Now his Company stand on Top six record
companies in the world.
• Now he have 204 Companies in 30 Countries.
• He has pledged £200 million for renewable energy
projects.

• He recently established the $25 million Virgin
Earth Challenge.
• He lives on Necker Island in the British Virgin
Islands and he is married with two grown-up
children.
6. What is Virgin Earth Challenge
• It is a competition offering a $25 million prize for
whoever can demonstrate a commercially viable
design
• For permanent removal of greenhouse gases out
of the Earth's atmosphere.
• Which contribute materially in global warming
avoidance.
7. Screw it. Let’s do it.’
(Tuesday 7 January 1997, Morocco)
• This is about the First Balloon Take off Story.
• Where he wrote a letter to his Daughter Holly and Son Sam & Thanks to his wife
also for the upbringing of two such delightful kids.
• He had a conversation with the meteorologist 24 hours prior to launch for
weather conditions while all the journalists left for the launch site.
• As he and other two pilots left with the balloon they experienced an absolutely
amazing takeoff and they reached at an altitude of 20000 feet as the view was
amazing.
• After sometime they felt that they did a mistake and forgot to lock the fuel tank
but by the evening due to cold air the balloon started to drop and they were all
praying and trying different methods to reach safely.
• As they were loosing their altitude rapidly as they reached at about 6000 feet
and were about to crash in the middle of somewhere in Atlas mountains in the
midnight but at about 2500 feet they finally managed to halt the fall and
regained the height again and managed flying the night.
• They landed into the middle of Sahara and finally managed to save the balloon
and to land safely.
• From this experience he learnt the mistakes me made and he decided not to
give up and try one more time and achieve it safely.
8. ‘A family that would have killed for each other.’
(1950–1963)
• This is about some childhood memories and challenges that he did while he was a child to grow up
physically.
• He recalls that how he once walked few miles to find way to home as he was lost and the other time he
cycled 50 miles to his relatives and then cycled his way back home.
• He remembers how he learnt to swim when he was 4 or 5, as to earn a reward of 10 shillings from his
auntie Joyce.
• He talks about his dad Ted, as how he want to become archaeologist and instead due to family tradition of
law he became a lawyer.
• He tells how Ted fought in the world war 2 and he discovered some tactics to inform his parents about his
whereabouts.
• He tells how his father met his mother Eve during a cocktail party and tell us that how her mother inherit
some characteristics from his mother who has two British records.
• He remembers how his mother became pilot instructors by pretending to be a boy and then she took a job
as airhostess.
• He remembers how his mother used to give him the tasks and how he spent time with his friend Nik and
his aunt Clare.
• He recalls how he lost his friend Nik’s cycle which he was given on his birthday.
• He then got separated from Nik while he was only 8 and he got admitted to Scaitcliffe boarding school as he
faced some issues due to dyslexia and later on he became Capitan in various games as he was interested in
sports.
• He remembers how he twisted his knee while one of the games and due to his poor grades he was sent to
other school where he caught the attention of headmaster’s daugher and when the headmaster expelled
him then he decided to suicide then his expulsion was revoked.
• In this part we basically got to know about how the author’s spent his early childhood.
9. ‘You will either go to prison or become a
millionaire.’ (1963–1967)
• This tells us about the story of the author post injury.
• After his last schooling he moved to Stowe Public
School in Buckinghamshire.
• He soon realized that after his injury he couldn’t play
sports as well as he was low in academics also.
• He found library as idle place and started writing the
novel as where he met one of the school mate who
wasn’t unlike the others and then he came to know
about the junior essay writing competition where he
won a prize.
• His English improved but his grades were still poor in
other subjects.
• He then went to his home on Ester holiday and he
decided to earn some money.
