Assume that the normal distributon applies two tailed-test; a= 0.06 (the first question submitted on Saturday was a two tailed test: a = 0.07, the answer I was given was -1.81) the answer should have been -1.81, 1.81) the answas I was given today was 0.03 and - 181 which was totally incorrect. Solution a=.06 on a two tailed test means there is .03 in the right hand tail and .03 in the left hand tail. If you go to a z table and look up .03 you will find if corresponds to a z score of -1.88. That is for the left hand tail. Since the normal curve is symmetrical .03 in the right hand tail corresponds to a z score of 1.88. So we have -1.88, 1.88..
