The module also discusses the input-process-output (IPO) cycle that computers follow to transform data into information. Additionally, it covers the capabilities and limitations of computers as well as their uses in personal, business, communication, education, science/research, transportation, and artificial intelligence applications. Learners complete various activities to demonstrate their understanding of computers and appreciation for their importance.

Delivery Mode (ADM) on Computer’s Definition, Uses and Importance.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators both from
public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners
meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and
economic constraints in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning

It is an electronic device which uses

a set of instructions stored in its memory. The

It is a collected data that has been processed. It can be considered as the
summarization of the data.
Capability of Computer
Computer has the ability to perform arithmetic operation such as (addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division) as well as the logical operation which is
commonly used in decision making (and operator, not operator and or operator). This
device can process data at the very high speed and can store and retrieve information
using storage called memory. Furthermore, computer has the capacity to determine
human language using a machine language. A machine language or programming
language is used by a computer to process data and to understand the command of
the computer user. Some of the computer languages are (BASIC, C, C++, COBOL,
Java, FORTRAN, Ada and Pascal).
Limitation of Computer
Computer is a great tool in doing the task but it also has its limitations because
it cannot be performed as if thinking on its own, cannot correct inaccurate data and it
is subject to break down.
Personal and Home Uses
Computers are used by people especially people from
different walks of life to do common activities like shopping online,
entertainment, playing games with other people and work from
home.
Business Uses
Computers allow companies to save and to retrieve quicker
and easier large amounts of information at hand like databases,
ordering and tracking resources, meetings from different locations
and sales directory.
Communication Uses
Computers allow people (family, relatives, love ones,
workmates, friends) across the world to communicate easily by
empowering others to share files, attending a training courses as
well as collaborating on projects like sharing a presentation or
documents.
Educational Uses
Internet allows access to huge online learning materials,
where students have the ability to correspond quickly about
ongoing research or studies and combine graphics, animation,
and audio with a reading program that helps them in the learning
process.
USES AND IMPORTANCE OF COMPUTER

that happens when a computer is working.

Computer enables the physical testing result become easy
and fast. Medicine being formulated according to the data being
gathered and accurate statistics analysis are being performed for
proper treatment of the patient.
Artificial Intelligence Uses
Artificial Intelligence acts as a human allowing workers to be
safer and experience less tedious tasks. The production in the
factories become faster and products being produced are of good
quality.
Transportation Uses
Computers allow passenger to travel more conveniently
because there are more transportation vehicles used. Simulators
are used by the pilot when they are in training, radar in ships help
a lot in navigating and sending signals.
