be used to perform migration to create new Elastic Compute Service (ECS)
instances.

It is applicable for databases running through Alibaba Cloud and is

- Data migration helps you quickly and easily migrate data between different databases.
- DTS is applicable to scenarios such as on-premises data to cloud migration, Alibaba Cloud cross-
instance migration, and database split and expansion. Both homogeneous migration, such as
MySQL to MySQL, and heterogeneous migration, and Oracle to Alibaba Cloud RDS
MySQL, are also attainable.
- DTS provides basic ETL functions, including multi-level object mapping and data filtering.

• Data synchronization helps you replicate data between two databases in real time. It is applicable to scenarios
such as off-site disaster recovery, cross-region data synchronization, and data synchronization between OLTP
and OLAP.
• Real-time data synchronization between two RDS instances.
• Data synchronization between a RDS instances in a classic network and a RDS instances in a VPC network.

• Ensure all services are functioning as expected.
• Make comparison using functions check list.
• Ensure that the Windows license is activated by running slmgr.vbs /dlv command in command prompt.
• Ensure to do all DNS redirection to Alibaba Cloud instance public IP (If required).
• Make sure to restart servers from cloud portal and monitor the events to confirm if any issues needs an
attention.
