3. Started project by coming up with inspiration for FF&E
By using search engines such as Pinterest, I located images that were
similar to aspects we wanted to incorporate within the lobby space.
4. Once inspiration images were pulled, I put together a furniture style in
which I wanted to utilize
5. Lastly, renderings were put together by an outside source using the
concepts and furniture ideas the team and I came up with.

6. After a furniture style was chosen, next step was to gather fabrics and
finishes in the color scheme I wanted to incorporated into the space using
the design elements concept board
7. This project was my biggest project this summer. When the project
first began I was told to take the floor plan and put together a
proposal for a furnished floor plan for the Prefunction areas. I
was then put in charge of finding all FF&E and creating the matrix
and specifications. This taught me how to contact Reps in order to
get pricing and quotes. Once I chose items for the FF&E and it was
approved, I was then put in charge of creating the presentation for
the owners.
8. Before projects start, I was always told to find images that are
inspiration for my design. I gathered pictures that helped me throughout
my process of choosing FF&E

9. Once the furniture was chosen and approved, I placed it within a
presentation in order to present our ideas to the owners.

10. Within the same property, the owners were looking for an art installation to be
placed outside of their largest ballroom. This installation went through
multiple iterations and the picture below is the first iteration created on
Photoshop.
The picture below is the final art installation which was approved and will be
installed this upcoming December.
11. Once the project was complete and the board was finalized with finishes,
it was set out to the owners in order for them to have a visual during the
presentation.
12. This project was different than the other ones I worked on this
summer. I was helping the architects created floorplans and
elevations using AutoCAD. I learned a lot from creating these
drawings that I did not know before coming to my internship.

16. 2 years back there was a huge flood at the Gaylord Opryland in
Nashville, TN. Therefore, there is a lot of renovation work that
needs to be done, and we were focused on the guestrooms in the
garden wing. I assisted the senior interior designer in collecting
fabrics, wall vinyl’s, sheers and casegood materials. I also
created a furnished floorplan for a suite.
17. We came up with a design for the new casegoods that will be placed in
each guestroom. We decided on a two tone finish and a three layer system.
18. Due to learning Sketchup last semester, I was given the chance to create
a Sketchup rendering for the guestroom in order to share with the
owners. This helped give an overall visual of our plan within the space
19. Once the furnished floorplan was finalized, I applied the
appropriate tags to the plan that dealt with the matrix
created.
20. My greatest accomplishment this summer and working for Marriott was completing my first
specifications book all on my own. I was put in charge of creating all of the specifications
along with the matrix. Once everything was put together, I met with the director of the project
in order to get everything approved. When it was approved I then printed everything out,
retrieved samples and placed the binder together. Once this was done, it will now be sent out
to the owners and directors of the hotel!
