  3. 3. SAMPLING PAST COURSEWORK BLOGS MY OBSERVATIONS
  4. 4. Successful use of an over the shoulder shot and good use of lighting to create a mysterious and threatening mood. Bring in themes of religion and juxtapose the violence with the innocence of the statue.
  5. 5. The character is portrayed as an angsty teen and a clear colour palate of greys and reds. The titles are incorporated into the scene and we clearly know that it’s a teen movie.
  6. 6. They used a medium shot from a low angle. This was successful as it not only gave us a new creepier angle of the scene but also showed us the inside of the trunk which hints to something that might happen later in the film.
  7. 7. They used a medium close up, ground level shot/worms eye shot. This was done to further highlight how inattentive the main character is and doesn’t notice what is right under his nose, highlighting his idiocy.
  8. 8. They used a very long shot, tracking the main character. This was done to create the effect of the main character being followed to make the audience feel very tense. This was done particularly well as there is a shaking effect making the shot feel more real and from the perspective of the attacker.
