The Chinguetti Field is located approximately 80km west of Mauritania in about
800m of water depth.
We provided the following:
• A critical environmental and technical review of the field operators proposed
abandonment plan. Provided the government with sufficient information for
the approval, modification or rejection of the abandonment plan.
• Examination of financial aspect of abandonment by presenting benchmarks of
similar projects and pointing to potential cost reduction.
• Consideration of possible scenarios for abandoning wells and the prospect of
future well recovery.
• Technical assistance and specialist personnel to the client throughout the
project implementation phases.
