The story so far…
Who we are…
Introducing…
Judith Wright
Judith started WAM in 2001
and her passion and
enthusiasm is what has
enabled the company to
grow and thrive!
She heads up the team
and keeps everyone
fuelled and motivated
to keep moving forward.
Bob Wright
Bob is our financial
expert and makes sure
everything adds up.
He’s a whiz with the
accounts, with a wealth
of financial sector
knowledge – this, twinned
with his wicked sense of
humour and constant
joke cracking, brings a
perfect balance to the
“Wright-side/left-side”
thinkers of the team.
Becky Wright
Becky is our multi-tasking
office manager. Not only
does she keep the whole
team organised, her degree
in Psychology means that
we have an insightful
perspective on people that
most other marketing
companies don’t.
She keeps us up-to-date
with the latest research
and helps us to have a
deeper understanding of
consumer and business
needs.
Tim Ingram
Tim brings a wealth of
design and print experience
to the team.
His natural ability to capture
the essence of our clients
business needs, enables
him to consistently create
clever, original designs and
brands with effective vibrant
solutions that keep our
clients coming back for
more.
Sarah Barthorpe
Sarah joined the team as
a Marketing Assistant,
however she quickly proved
her aptitude for both
design and marketing.
Sarah has amazing creative
flair and a fresh, youthful
approach. She knows what
the younger market wants
and is quickly becoming
an expert at Photoshop.
Adam Stevens
Adam joined us as our
Social Media Executive
however, has proven that
social media is only a small
part of what he can bring to
the team!
Managing everything from
Social Media to PPC, Adam
has already given us so
many hints and tips to help
us grow and develop our
skills. We can’t wait to see
what other hidden talents he
has to show us!
Verity Mann
Verity brings to WAM a
wealth of experience in
FTSE 100 Food and Non
Food retailers along with
FMCG account manage-
ment for National Accounts
including Boots, Sainsburys,
Waitrose and more.
She is passionate about
customer service and loves
working with a range of
clients across very different
businesses!
Carol is a copywriter,
freelance journalist,
proofreader and academic
researcher.
She brings a wealth of
experience to the team
and a passion for learning,
which is great as our clients
are from a wide range of
business sectors, from
manufacturing to legal
services.
…The WAM Team
Carol Longbottom
Where we are now…
WAM has been on quite a journey since 2001. We’ve gone from;
Judith being a ‘billy-no-mates’ working in her dining room, to taking
office space at Bowers Mill in Barkisland. When Judith first moved in,
she was on her own but soon decided she needed some company around
her. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength as
‘the WAM team’ grew to meet client’s needs. In October 2016, we relocated
to our stunning new offices at Croft Myl.
Our vision has changed too, we used to be about B2B and
B2C but now, we are all about H2H… ‘Human 2 Human’.
Over the years we’ve worked, and continue to work with some amazing
clients and we have enjoyed seeing their businesses flourish.
It’s simple really, we work with you, not for you, and as our clients say:
“You get me…you listen…you are part of our team”
…which is great to hear!
Moving on from where we are now, to where we are going…watch this space,
nothing stands still for long at WAM.
People
• People come first, both internally and externally.
• We help others to achieve their goals.
• Our clients are not just customers, but people. It’s about what we can do for them,
rather than what we can get from them.
• We have a collaborative approach, both in how we work as a team, internally,
and how we work with clients, externally.
• Relationships are important to us – we wouldn’t want to work with someone
we wouldn’t go down the pub with – we always want to be authentic.
Passion
• We are enthusiastic and have bags of energy; we are passionate about people,
marketing and ideas.
• We love what we do and it shows in our everyday behaviours.
• We work on brands that we believe in, or turn them into something we can.
• When our clients are ready to make the leap, we jump with them.
The 4 P’s of Marketing
Most marketing companies talk about the 4 P’s: Price, Product, Placement and Promotion.
However, we have a slightly different take on this…
The 4 P’s of WAM
Pioneers
• We are innovators, explorers and inventors.
• We come up with new and clever ways to do things.
• We do more than just deliver what our clients think they want, we coach them to
articulate what’s in their head so their clarity gives them a better reality.
• We want people to feel more confident in their vision and inspired to make it happen,
alongside our creative delivery.
• We take simple ideas and give them a twist to produce a more innovative solution.
Purple
• We are mad about all things purple!
• The colour purple impacts the mind,
body and spirit.
• Purple stimulates the imagination and
inspires high ideals.
• Purple is ambitious and self-assured,
‘the leader’.
Our Values…
At the very essence of
the WAM brand…
We are driven by helping people to define their vision
and working with them to turn that vision into reality.
Collaboration
We work as a team and with our clients to achieve goals.
Passion
We have a love and huge enthusiasm for what we do.
Responsibility
We are accountable for our actions and for each other.
Authenticity
We express genuineness and truth in all that we do.
Integrity
We possess and adhere to high moral principles and professional standards.
…Our Personality
Fun
We find enjoyment and excitement in everything we do.
Quirky
We like to do things a bit differently and stand out from the crowd.
Approachable
We’re friendly and easy to talk to.
Straight Talking
We’re honest, direct and straightforward in dealing with others.
Inspirational
We inspire our clients to be the best they can be.
Energetic
We’ve got lots of energy and display vigour in everything we do.
Interestingly, when we worked with an external consultant to look at our brand,
we were really pleased that they agreed with us that we were a fun, quirky
and inspirational bunch, with lots of energy.
They also thought that we are very approachable and straight talking,
which basically means that what you see is what you get.
Oh, and the bonus is, this means our clients understand us!
What we ARE…
…and what we are definitely NOT!
Bright …not bland
Team …not staff
Fun …not pretentious
Proactive …not reactive
Long Term …not short term
Excellence …not standard
The Extra Mile …not ‘just enough’
Original …not a follower
Flexible …not 9-5
Supportive …not contrary
Bringing our brand alive
We are fierce brand guardians for our clients and we are just the same for our own brand.
Not only do we ensure that all our communications have the same look and feel,
but we make sure that we always deliver a consistent experience for our clients.
We are clear about what we are delivering and we make sure our clients know what
to expect from us.
Unlike most marketing agencies, we love to be measured wherever possible and
we like to show our clients a return on investment.
What our clients think
One client called us ‘The Marketing Coach’
and went on to explain…
“The Marketing Coach doesn’t just deliver what we think we want or tell us what we want
to hear. They challenge us to really understand our brand and our vision and help us to
articulate what’s in our head: then they help us to make it a reality. They’re there to
support us along the way and help us see that anything is possible and when we’re
ready to make the leap, they hold our hand and jump with us.”
What our clients say about our brand
Creative We use lots of imagination to create new ideas or things.
Generous We are willing to give as much time and expertise as we can to our clients.
Can do We are keen to take on a job or challenge and we’re confident of success.
Open We are honest, real and allowing of other people and ideas.
Positive We are confident, optimistic, and focused on good things.
Principled We have high moral and ethical standards in everything that we do.
How the WAM brand makes them feel
Empowered We always try to give clients a greater sense of confidence or self-esteem.
Enthused We always strive to give our clients a sense of excitement
and interest in what they are doing.
Inspired We help our clients to feel brilliant and creative in their work.
Anything We enable our clients to feel like there are no limits to what is possible.
is possible
How the WAM brand makes them look
Successful We help our clients to achieve their goals and look great.
Professional We help our clients stand out and show a high degree of skill
		or competence.
In control We enable clients to take control of their own success.
Focused We support clients to have a concentrated effort or attention
		 on a particular thing.
The WAM brand gives them
Inspiration We inspire our clients to be the best they can be.
Ideas We give our clients realisations when things need to be done
and possible ways to achieve these desired results.
Experience We encourage our clients to have an active involvement
in the process in order to increase their knowledge and skill.
Solutions We create methods of successfully dealing with a challenge or difficulty.
Direction We help shape the way in which something develops.
Energy We have lots of this and we try to pass that onto our clients,
giving them the ability or power to work harder and more effectively.
The thinking behind the visual
Our Brand is…
So much more than a logo. It is the way we all behave. It is the service we give.
It is all about the perception we hold in the minds of other people. We recognise that
the development of our brand and the perceptions we create are an incredibly important
part of what we do.
Our Mission is…
To work with individuals and companies, to help them to set and achieve their goals.
We turn ideas into reality using clever marketing and design.
Our Vision is…
A highly successful marketing agency made up of a team of people with vision,
skills and creativity. We are a close knit team of incredibly talented individuals who
add value to our clients. The team brings fun, purpose and a can do/will do attitude,
which attracts opportunities. We are passionate about the success of our clients.
We are the most respected and best known marketing agency in Yorkshire
for our clever marketing and design.
Every company aims to possess a logo or corporate identity that is instantly recognisable
and remembered. Our logo was designed with this in mind.
It’s worth remembering… not only is the purple corner a ‘right angle’ but it also symbolises
a turned page corner. This is usually done to ‘remember’ your place in a book or highlight
interesting content on a page so you can quickly and easily return to it at a later date.
The energetic freehand ‘WAM’ writing dates back to 2001 when the company was
established and illustrates the creative WAM passion unleashed.
The key words we associate with our brand are:
It’s worth remembering…
and
Clever Marketing & Design
The images we choose are:
Black and white with key purple accents. These images are quirky and instantly
recognisable as ‘WAM’. The subjects portray a stylish but fun manner that encapsulates
the WAM team and reinforces the brand.
Our logo…

  • 2.
  • 4. Introducing… Judith Wright Judith started WAM in 2001 and her passion and enthusiasm is what has enabled the company to grow and thrive! She heads up the team and keeps everyone fuelled and motivated to keep moving forward. Bob Wright Bob is our financial expert and makes sure everything adds up. He’s a whiz with the accounts, with a wealth of financial sector knowledge – this, twinned with his wicked sense of humour and constant joke cracking, brings a perfect balance to the “Wright-side/left-side” thinkers of the team. Becky Wright Becky is our multi-tasking office manager. Not only does she keep the whole team organised, her degree in Psychology means that we have an insightful perspective on people that most other marketing companies don’t. She keeps us up-to-date with the latest research and helps us to have a deeper understanding of consumer and business needs. Tim Ingram Tim brings a wealth of design and print experience to the team. His natural ability to capture the essence of our clients business needs, enables him to consistently create clever, original designs and brands with effective vibrant solutions that keep our clients coming back for more.

  • 6. Where we are now… WAM has been on quite a journey since 2001. We’ve gone from; Judith being a ‘billy-no-mates’ working in her dining room, to taking office space at Bowers Mill in Barkisland. When Judith first moved in, she was on her own but soon decided she needed some company around her. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength as ‘the WAM team’ grew to meet client’s needs. In October 2016, we relocated to our stunning new offices at Croft Myl. Our vision has changed too, we used to be about B2B and B2C but now, we are all about H2H… ‘Human 2 Human’. Over the years we’ve worked, and continue to work with some amazing clients and we have enjoyed seeing their businesses flourish. It’s simple really, we work with you, not for you, and as our clients say: “You get me…you listen…you are part of our team” …which is great to hear! Moving on from where we are now, to where we are going…watch this space, nothing stands still for long at WAM.
  • 7.
  • 8. People • People come first, both internally and externally. • We help others to achieve their goals. • Our clients are not just customers, but people. It’s about what we can do for them, rather than what we can get from them. • We have a collaborative approach, both in how we work as a team, internally, and how we work with clients, externally. • Relationships are important to us – we wouldn’t want to work with someone we wouldn’t go down the pub with – we always want to be authentic. Passion • We are enthusiastic and have bags of energy; we are passionate about people, marketing and ideas. • We love what we do and it shows in our everyday behaviours. • We work on brands that we believe in, or turn them into something we can. • When our clients are ready to make the leap, we jump with them. The 4 P’s of Marketing Most marketing companies talk about the 4 P’s: Price, Product, Placement and Promotion. However, we have a slightly different take on this… The 4 P’s of WAM
  • 9. Pioneers • We are innovators, explorers and inventors. • We come up with new and clever ways to do things. • We do more than just deliver what our clients think they want, we coach them to articulate what’s in their head so their clarity gives them a better reality. • We want people to feel more confident in their vision and inspired to make it happen, alongside our creative delivery. • We take simple ideas and give them a twist to produce a more innovative solution. Purple • We are mad about all things purple! • The colour purple impacts the mind, body and spirit. • Purple stimulates the imagination and inspires high ideals. • Purple is ambitious and self-assured, ‘the leader’.
  • 10. Our Values… At the very essence of the WAM brand… We are driven by helping people to define their vision and working with them to turn that vision into reality. They also thought that we are very approachable and straight talking, which basically means that what you see is what you get. Oh, and the bonus is, this means our clients understand us!

Unlike most marketing agencies, we love to be measured wherever possible and we like to show our clients a return on investment. What our clients think One client called us ‘The Marketing Coach’ and went on to explain… “The Marketing Coach doesn’t just deliver what we think we want or tell us what we want to hear. They challenge us to really understand our brand and our vision and help us to articulate what’s in our head: then they help us to make it a reality. • 18. Every company aims to possess a logo or corporate identity that is instantly recognisable and remembered. Our logo was designed with this in mind. It’s worth remembering… not only is the purple corner a ‘right angle’ but it also symbolises a turned page corner. This is usually done to ‘remember’ your place in a book or highlight interesting content on a page so you can quickly and easily return to it at a later date. The energetic freehand ‘WAM’ writing dates back to 2001 when the company was established and illustrates the creative WAM passion unleashed. The key words we associate with our brand are: It’s worth remembering… and Clever Marketing & Design The images we choose are: Black and white with key purple accents. These images are quirky and instantly recognisable as ‘WAM’. The subjects portray a stylish but fun manner that encapsulates the WAM team and reinforces the brand. Our logo…
