MERCY OF THE WORLD
Assalamu alaikum wa rahamathullahi wa barakathu
Dear friends,
Around 15 centuries ago, lived an orphan in a desert. His father died before he was born. His mother died
when he was a baby. He was brought up by his grandfather. After his grandfather’s death, his uncle took
care of him.
He was a playful and active child. He had grazed sheep and learnt to do business.
He was loved by all. He was called as Al-Ameen by people because he was truthful and trustworthy. He was
kind to young. He was respectful to elders. He helped weak people. He forgave whoever harmed him.
When he became 25 years old, he married an elderly widow. His wife took care of him. And she gave birth
to his children.
When he became 40 years old, he began to call people to be good, and believe in only One God. He also
asked people to stop bad habits.
This was not liked by people because they were used to do these things.
However, he treated people kindly, and advised them lovingly. And also explained patiently to them why it
is good to stop bad habits. He suffered pains because of them for over 13 years.
He was sad because most of the people rejected him, and he left his birthplace and went to another place
along with some of his followers who were poor and weak.
In the new place, he found people friendly and they accepted his advices. For 10 years, he turned the new
place into a peaceful and safe city.
Meanwhile, people in his birthplace learnt about the benefits of his advices and found that people are
living happily, also began to believe in him.
For over 23 years, he advised people to do good and believe in only One God in a peaceful and kind
manners. Sometimes, he used force due to unavoidable reasons.
Finally, when he visited his birthplace, people accepted him completely.
Do you know who was that orphan? He was our beloved Rasoolullah, Muhammad, swallallahu alaihi
wassallam, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
Allah says that he was sent to the people as a Mercy:
