3. Environment is the surroundings or
conditions in which a person, animal, or
plant lives or operates.
4. We want an ideal environment which means
a better, greener and healthier quality home
for us, and our future generations to live in.

12. Ways To Reduce Global Warming
• Switch to clean energy
• Use less energy
• Travel Green
• Watch your water use
• Reduce waste
13.
14. Reasons Of Overpopulation
• Increase in births
• Reduced mortality rate
• Better medical facilities
• Depletion of precious resources
• Increase in immigration
• More Hands to Overcome Poverty
• Lack of Family Planning
• Depletion of Natural Resources
• Degradation of Environment
Effects Of Overpopulation
16. Reasons of Ozone Depletion
• CFCs, which contain carbon,
chloride and fluorine damage
the ozone layer.
• Halogen gas which contains
bromine and is thought to be even
more damaging to ozone than
CFCs.
• Experts believe that just one atom
of carbon in the stratosphere can
destroy up to 100,000 ozone
molecules.

18. How does deforestation
cause global warming?
1) The "slash and burn"
technique used to clear the
forest releases carbon
dioxide into the atmosphere.
2) Destruction of living trees
reduces the amount of
photosynthesis
3) This results in the
accumulation of carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere.
19. Types Of Waste:
1. Liquid type (eg. wash water from homes, waste
detergents)
2. Solid type (eg. old newspapers, broken furniture and
even food waste).
3. Hazardous type (eg. pesticides, mercury-containing
equipment and lamps and batteries).
4. Organic type (eg. food waste, fruit and vegetable
peels)
5. Recyclable type (eg. Aluminium cans, Plastics, Glass
products and Paper products).
20. What Can We Do?
• Waste minimization - to reduce the
production of waste through the
adoption of improved production
processes and less wasteful
practices.
• Recycling - by separating certain
materials within the waste stream
and reprocessing them.
• Waste processing - treatment and
recovery (use) of materials or
energy from waste through thermal,
chemical, or biological means.
